Hi, I recently bought a 1952/54 2782-9 sc Constellation (ss case / gold markers on dial) The watch is currently at Omega for revision, as it came without a bracelet or strap I'd like to find a correct one. Does anyone know what design for the buckle at least is correct on this watch?

Well, hope not, as this seems a redial, and one not done well at all

It doesn't matter if that one is a redial to determine what buckle would be correct, methinks.

That will come out looking great I'm sure 😀

What was your reason for choosing Omega to do the work?

Well, I live in a town where there are many watchmakers but I learnt you can't trust them.
Omega recently changed their policy on servicing taking pricing down for all watches. Now their pricing is not based on specific calibre but only the watch being chrono or not.
They are able to use laser welding on cases, they have availability of spare parts and they fix their errors if any.
The only concern I have is I don't want them to repaint the dial but only at least clean it if possible. I'll see what they propose.
By the way news is Omega Italy doesn't service this calibre so they are sending it to Bienne.

Wow guys, I just received the estimate for the servicing from Omega Bienne, apart the complete service (510 euros), they want to restore the dial for a whopping 1059 euros! They describe it as oxidated and exfoliating. It didn't seem so bad to me, what do you think?
I replied that I have no intention to restore the dial at all and that I will accept only the servicing, let's see what they say.
By the way, there are some things so strange about this estimate. For example they say the crystal doesn't need replacement... !?!?! they want me to spend 1059 on a dial but they don't want to replace the crystal?!

That sounds completely ridiculous!

There is visible crazing in the plexiglass, and they don't want to replace it? Wow.
Re. the dial - I guess all our dials are oxidated and exfoliated, but that's part of the charm 😉

I just hope they don't insist on this dial thing as I would really like to get this watch in working conditions. Here are some other pictures of the case and movement that they describe as rusty ...

Guys, wtf! They insist on the dial restoring. I told no way and asked if they have any dial for this watch that they can sell and fit in the watch instead of touching the original one.

Get the watch back ASAP, refuse all work.

Where are you? I'm sure somebody here can point you in the right direction for a simple service and new crystal....I would be paying around E200-250 for that kind of work ( excluding parts, including crystal )
