Well, you can’t say they didn’t put the serifs on the lettering!

Always a very important point: Keep an eye on serifs:

I don't agree that this is a "nice redial", the quality of the printing and the dial surface looks horrible.
I guess my sarcastic tone was not clear, I will put the word nice in italics next time 😉

Hello,

To me, it looks like a redial for sure. The fonts, thickness, position of text and second track, soleillage of the dial… Numerous hints 😀

Hi Servius

For my culture : What's wrong with the soleillage ?

Thanks.

Thanks all for your answers. The price asked for this watch is 1500 euros. Knowing it's a redial what discount could be expected ? Or is it better not to buy ? My state of mind is : I can live with a redial but I don't want to pay premium price for it.

€500-600 max and way better to avoid.

Hi everyone.

I need your expertise for another pie pan dial

I don't know if it's better to create a new thread or continue this one. I chose the second option please tell me if it's no the right way.

So here are the photos. For me it looks pretty good except 2 things I'm not sure :

1. The hands have lume but on the dial it's only written Swiss made (no t)
2. On "Constellation" The end of t is not perfectly align with the start of the e but maybe it's just the picture. Also on some pictures the star look a bit off.

Is it a redial in your opinion? Or maybe only the hands were changed?

The serif seem to be there but the pictures are a little blurry (that's the best the seller could get)

Crown and cristal look fine and original. The bracelet looks good too.

Caliber is 552 and doesn't look to have water damage, but once again the picture is quite blurry.

Do you think it was heavily polished?

Here are the pics and thanks for your help :

the pics aren’t great but the dial looks ok.
both the hands and indices have lume - this watch is pre Ts on the dial.
the case is ok - not sharp but not badly polished either.
There is a glaring problem - Let me set you a learning exercise.
Which calibre movements were used in no date 14381 Constellations?

Hi Peemacgee.

Thanks for your answer.

Now mine is : 551 according to omega website.

And on the photos it's 552. So I guess the original movement was replaced?

Correct. The 552 isn’t chronometer rated and thus doesn’t belong in this watch.

May I be curious about the price anyway?

it’s certainly an odd one.
It has a chronometer bridge but an incorrect reference plate. ( from around the right era)
So a put together movement.

It would quite a good price if the movt was correct but not as it is.

you can’t go wrong if you immerse yourself in Desmond’s excellent site
