Chrono suggestions for my quartz-loving wife?

Is your wife a fan of women's fashion? If she is, she might like a watch from a specific fashion company such as Gucci, Tiffany, Chanel, Cartier, etc.

For example, here are women's watches from Tiffany & Co:
https://www.tiffany.com/watches/shop/all-watches/womens-watches/

Obviously, these companies don't make the internals of the quartz watches they sell, but they do a nice job adding their "branding" to them.
The cost will be higher than a similar quartz watch, but your wife might cherish owning one.

My wife has had the Tissot PRC200 ladies chrono for a long time now, and still loves it, wearing it in preference to her Rolex which only seems to come out for special occasions.

As others have said, the Tissot your wife indicated she wants is a nice watch. Better to get her something SHE wants than something you want her to have. 😀

Tissot’s are really good watches - they also seem to be favorites of Swiss citizens. I’ve seen more Tissot watches on wrists in Bern and Zurich when I have visited over the years than any other brand.

FWIW, my wife has a Tissot gold-plated Chrono (because she wanted one gold-colored watch to match other jewelry). It has a mother of pearl dial and diamond-chip indices. It’s quite nice looking - much better in person than pictures online.

She likes the style but that Tissot is massive

Tissot makes chronographs in many sizes. The PRC line isn't as big as those Tissot V8 models.

Wow. I so appreciate you folks for all of this. Thanks to you all.

Great to learn of the popularity of Tissot ‘at home’ in Switzerland, @Donn Chambers. They are really nice. FTR, there’s never been a question about her deciding what she wears. Of course she decides! Indeed, I would have preferred to start with a higher quality piece than that dreck MK thing; I bought it anyway. She liked it. 😉

She quite likes the style of the big Tissot Chrono, but she thinks my Speedmaster sits too large. Therefore the thought is a 42 or 44mm Tissot won’t get any wrist time. She’s taller yet her wrists aren’t large. My vintage Omegas at 34-36mm look great, in her opinion, but “even a smidge bigger would be great.”

Now the PRC line described by @janice&fred and @imagwai definitely look interesting. Literally a moment ago before she left for work I showed her the image above and she loved it. Then asked, ‘does it come on a metal bracelet?’ 😁🤦

The Bay runs sales (25% or more) on their watches every month or 2. Maybe she could check out their inventory online?

That Tissot might drop down to a price that she can live with.
Good call. Last day of ‘Bay Days’ is today!!!

Actually, and while Undone has a pathetically limited range for women, it does have a nice 34mm quartz chronograph that seem to fit all of the OP’s requirements.
It’s very different from the large Tissot however.

Than you, @Syrte. That’s a terrific suggestion. As it turns out, and as my wife and I thought, those larger 44/45mm Tissots looked like side plates on her wrist.

After trying on heaps of styles, a number of which were kindly suggested in this thread, the PR100 Sport Chic caught her eye. Both the steel chronograph (sans blingy diamonds etc), and the dark blue mother-of-pearl dial 3-hand resonated with her. 38 and 36mm respectively, she thought the sizes perfect.

As always, many, many thanks to the community.

It does come on a metal bracelet. Or at least I know you can buy one to specifically fit that model. I know because my wife is considering buying one to switch up the blue strap.

She tried on a ton of them today. And the winner is a 39mm. She liked it best and in the end that’s all that matters!

You’ve answered your own question, mate.

She’s told you she likes the Tissot - there’s your answer.

She may appreciate the extravagance of the Speedy, but it may also show her that you’re not listening to her?

The only watch that my other half ever expressed an interest in was a Cartier Tank Francaise - that’s exactly what I bought her. Had she have been interested in nothing more than a fashion brand watch, the Cartier wouldn’t have been on the radar.

Have a good one.

There’s a nice Revue Thommen Airspeed Titanium Quartz Chrono with a blue dial on eBay right now. Seller will take an offer. It’s 38mm case and a lovely watch. I’ve had a few of these and written a review previously.
