Hey guys - so I'm finally approaching the end of my vintage spree consolidation. But, before I make a new purchase in the next month or so, want to turn to the group-think to see what opinions are here: I normally wear either a 34mm Rolex, or a TAG or Seiko in the 36-40mm range. Most of these, however, are vintage. I almost never buy or wear a watch over 40mm, and unless it wears small, most I lose interest in after 38mm. I'm thinking I'd like to find a contemporary (w/in last 10-12 years or so) casual piece as so: 34-38, 40MM absolute max. 100 Meters W.R. minimum Automatic or hand-wind movement only - doesn't have to be in-house, however. A classic 'casual' style preferably, or what might be called semi-formal these days. Time only preferred - date possibly, but definitely no chronos. A known quantity/quality maker, IE not a new microbrand or resurrected name under a totally new company. I have mostly sub 500 USD watches for rough stuff, then watches worth several thousand. I'd like to hit the sweet spot of around 800-1200 on this, new or pre-owned. My internet gawking has led to the Nomos Club being the current leading candidate; but what do YOU suggest? Image below not mine, just a ref for anyone who isn't familiar with the Club:
For that price point/style I too would target Nomos. Here are two others I would consider (at your upper limit for case size though): Ball Fireman Enterprise Oris Big Pilot
I would take a look at Stowa. They have both classic and Bauhaus-inspired looks that would fit your profile. some very nice, and moderately customizable options at 36mm.
