I've been asked to suggest a watch for a mates wife.
it's a surprise so he can't ask her outright
she has said she likes black chrono's
so other than a reduced speedy, what do you guys suggest?

I would recommend the Carrera 1964 Re-Edition; CS3111 which is 37mm and has a black dial.


Also I know that Zenith do a 38mm El Primero, but it might stretch the budget.

 

And within your budget. Only issue is that it is not water resistant. Junghans Max Bill in black.

And the Baltic is Seagull I think. For the money ... so what? How many in house chrono movements are out there for the OP budget? We have $20k watches FS out there with Valjoux movements. Selling point .. anyone can service them.

Got me a white dial Max Bill before XMass but I think one day soon Baltic SS with black gilt Dial.
