Changing the date on 8900

Do you know if that part has been improved from 8500 to 8900 movements?

The wheel has not changed. If the watch is used normally and serviced at an appropriate interval, this shouldn't be a problem.

I have the 8900 movement. I've had it since the time I've started this post. A couple of weeks ago, the date didn't cycle at midnight but got stuck in the middle of two dates. It changed over to the correct date after a number of hours. I was intending to get it repaired, but ever since then it has returned to running beautifully thank God.
