·Its a beautiful watch
pass
I'd like it in a case from the mid 60s, thanks.
When I asked "why would they remake the same case," I meant why would Omega go to the trouble to design a totally new case for the new 105.003 with a glass crystal, when they already have the FOIS case, which should be perfect. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

I think that's more than optimistic. In Switzerland, I've been told from June on...
Because, in the 60s, the 2998 and 105.003’s had very different cases...
For this watch they have made a case that is accurate to the 60s Ed White cases (105.003-64)...not the -65, which had a different case maker, and slightly different lugs/chamfers to -64/-63 and 2998/2815s)

The FOIS case is accurate to some 2998 cases (the watch it fails to mimic), not an EW...thus it makes 0 sense to use it. It would just look odd from a historic perspective.
R rohninIf it were accurate to the EW case from the 60s it should be 38.6mm. I have a feeling they took a shortcut and used a modified lug CK2998 FOIS case. That bezel overhang is bothersome
Are you sure about that?
R rohninI really hope I’m wrong!
