Well done...105.002 as a first Speedy is really something. And not just a 105.002 ... a beautiful one in great condition 🥰 Most of us would certainly love to hear the story of how this came to be. Did you know what you were looking at? Ghosting-on-the-outside bezel ... and its got an asymmetric clutch bridge, totally correct from 1964. And because nobody has yet : dibs.

WIGH.

Hahahaa. Thank you for your nice words. The story is nothing special, however here it is:
A friend of mine (he is really deep in the Rolex subject) and I (I'm more the Heuer person) we are meeting up every once in a while having some beers and talks about watches. Everybody is pulling out his new findings and stories. We figured that he does not know much about Heuer, while I do not know much about Rolex. So we learn from each other which is great. We have been talking back and forth about watches and every time we met Omega was the brand we both talked about. The buddy of mine he has some newer ones but we came pretty fast to the conclusion: WE HAVE TO HAVE A PRE-MOON SPEEDMASTER. And we have to develop our knowledge together 😀. That said I immediately ordered the book MWO (60 years) in order to learn as much as we can before buying a watch. Long story short: He is looking for an "Ed White" Speedmaster while I was immediately attracted by the silver rehaut of the earlier ones. I thought to search for a 2998, but fairly soon I realized that this is completely out of the ball-park. So the 105.002 seemed to be the one. Started searching the web and luckily I found one. The rest of the story is just contacting the owner and asking 10,000s of questions before giving it the final go.

Thank you! Yes, the bluish tint is really nice. It has also some dents and small plate-offs however I immediately loved the patina.

Bravo. That is the right way to go about it and you did very well. Next time feel free to ask questions here too as people are always happy to help, particularly when the poster has already done some homework as you clearly had.

I think it has been polished though.
They all have to a greater or lesser degree.

Yes, the bluish tint is really nice.

Here are 2 105.002's ... both have a similar fading/tint to the bezel ... (clearly seen on the first one, second one is reflecting light wrong) ...

Saddest thing was there were THREE (for us Mere Mortals thats quite a number) there that day ... and I was too overwhelmed to remember to take a group pic of all of them when I realized ...

2 things are still on my mind:
- is there anyway to find out more about the history of my particular watch? I mean is there a way to contact Norman Morris' archives? I know the company is not existing anymore but....?

the more easy part:
- what is the right box for the 105.002? I am looking for a nice one. Have there been differences between the boxes for watches delivered to the USA vs. to the ones delivered within EUROPE?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Congrats to the OP from my group

GREAT Group picture. There is another question especially for you gemini4 regarding the bracelets:

some of the links seem to be folded types (the one on the watch with the Alpha hands), while others seem to be solid ones (the one behind the one with the alphas). Any ideas on this?
