Bought a Speedmaster Hesalite yesterday, and have a few questions!

Hi all, new member here.

I bought my first Omega yesterday, a Speedmaster in Hesalite. I bought the watch from an AD, Jared's Jeweler's. Super excited about it. Have a few questions.

First of all, the AD did not fill out the warranty card. I see the reference number and my serial number, but they didn't date it or anything.

Also, the warranty card says the watch has 2 years of warranty, and according to what I've read online, the watch is supposed to have 5 years warranty now.

Further, the AD did not give me any hang tags. Is that okay?

Thanks in advance guys and gals!

Jesus

Your watch has 5 year warranty no matter what the card says, any watch sold after July 2018 has five year warranty. The date of purchase is what is important. Card should have been dated and stamped with AD's name if it wasn't preprinted on the card. You may want to ask them to date it. Some people like blank cards, but better to have everything correct from the start. You should have two cards, one is the INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY card, the other is the PICTOGRAMS card.

Hang tag may or may not be included, it's a hit or miss affair with dealers. Some keep them, some give them. Not a big deal.

thanks for the information Evitzee!

I called and the manager said he has a hang tag for me.

I do have 2 cards are you mentioned

I am going to ask if they can date my warranty card.

Also, what happens if you press the reset pusher by mistake while the chronograph is running ?

damage to the movement?

Actually, I don’t know why I said it has 2 year warranty, I am looking at my international warranty cars again and it doesn’t say anything on it.

The back of the PICTOGRAMS card has the warranty period on it.

Oh okay. Wow, feel like such a noob!

I checked and lt has 2 years warranty, but as you say, it won’t matter what it says on the card.

On my way to the AD to get the card stamped.

Also, can I find the serial number of the watch anywhere on the watch ?
My Datejust has it on the rehaut for example.

The hang tag that I pick up, is it supposed to have the watch serial number on it ?

sorry for all the questions

it’s my first Omega

Purchased two Rolex before this and it looks like the companies are a bit different as far as hang tags and warranty cards go

Serial number on one of the back lugs. Always good to verify it matches the warranty card (mistakes can happen).

Hang tag will have the serial number on it.

When you say on one of the back of the lugs, would I need to remove the bracelet to verify? Or is it literally on the lug ?

sorry I don’t have the watch with me

(waiting to wear it until my birthday in November)

It's on the lug, viewable even with bracelet on the watch. From the back with the crown at 9 o'clock the SN is on the bottom right lug.

Thanks a bunch for all your help.

I just picked up the hang tag and had the warranty card filled out.

The hangtag matches the serial number that was on the sticker for the caseback of the watch and on my pictogram card now I just need to verify the lug when I get home

thanks!

The eight digit serial number is on the underside of the 7 o'clock lug.

Yes. The watch isn’t a fly back chrono so if you manage to press it hard enough to reset it will cause damage. I’ve noticed on my FOIS Speedmaster though that it’s nearly impossible to push the reset while the chrono is running.

Let us see a wrist shot of the Speedy. Rolex shot would be OK too.

I haven’t gotten it sized.
My birthday is in early November, I’m not going to wear it till then 👍

That's a long time! I wouldn't have the patience especially if I had the watch in my possession.
