Maybe another collateral damage of the past bad storms over Florida ?? Lots of people have lost everything, and hardly any compensation from their insurance co. ... could be that quite a few of them were forced to sell most of their remaining belongings just to make a better living ??

I’d guess in this case with many pawn shops in the city it would make more sense that a veteran has passed and his estate was sold to the thrift shop. They are called Red White and Blue Thrift. They rely heavily on donations from the military community like Goodwill or Salvation Army.

Quartz or auto, gold or steel: if you like it you keep it!!! The market for gold watches isn't as big as the market for steel hence you picking it up "for a song". You can take it from me that the past eight years hasn't seen an upswing in the price of goldly embellished watches.

I need to find some new thrift stores then, clearly! The best find I’ve ever had was a 1969 Timex Viscount. It’s a pretty cool little watch to be sure, but it’s no Omega Seamaster, that’s for certain.
Still better than me. All I've ever found are pocket watches.
