    Hi guys,

found this for a rather good price. I would like to have your opinion on condition and value for collection. The case seems minty and the dial rather good with a few spots.

    cheers

145.029 is my personal favorite of the non-Speedmaster cal. 861s. Very similar case to the "yachting" cal. 1040 ref. 176.010. They aren't terribly common so pinning a market value on them is tough. Hodinkee recently sold one for $2300, but the case was not as nice as the one in your pics.

Thanks guys, I will consider getting it seriously. The guy is not in my hometown so I can't go see it. I wonder if the hands have not been changed. They don't look much like tritium.

I think so too. That's not a big issue but good to know.

These are VERY under appreciated watches. Only going to see these increase in value more and more especially as Mark ii's become more scarce. Typically good examples are not easy to find so get if you can get!

Would want better pix, dial, movement, etc. Not so sure where the market is going on those, they seem to have been out of favor for a long time (case shape?). If you are collecting to enjoy the watch, then the value issue should be secondary.

Well I'm collecting but always keep in mind that I would have to sell some of them in case of financial emergency. That means paying the right price.
I keep thinking that these cushion watches are under evaluated for some trend reasons. As were some pie pans 10 years ago?
You're right calalum. I'm going to ask for some more pics and will probably by it face to face.

IMHO, too unrealistic. I like much better around $1400 range, he could find it a tough sell at $1800 especially when the savoy buyer can still get more desired Mark ii's at $1200-$1400 all day long....

It looks good to me, I like the blue hands, no idea on the price but it has chrono creep and therefore is likely to need a service.

I'm not a fan of that particular case style. I've looked at a handful online because they tend to be budget priced but that does not make me an expert on price.
I would say $1800 would be reasonable if freshly serviced, high side without. I think @Waynepjr is on the right track. If you really like it and feel the tug of that model, the offer isn't outrageous but I'd think if it doesn't have a documented fresh service that you might be hesitant to go over $1500 and $1400 is a solid deal that would cause you no heartburn.
