You know, that Casio Worldtimer you posted is actually a pretty cool watch, especially for about 20 USD. Keep thinking of getting one of those myself. The only thing stopping me is the certainty of my wife saying something along the lines of “OK, that’s it, you’ve officially lost it”.

I actually have been thinking about one of the solar digitalis out there. Instead, I wear this.

My 14 year old Seiko, apparently bullet proof. Alarm, date, and chrono.
Value $50-$100 .
Almost a relief to get mugged !

Depends where you are going. I have no worries wearing an Explorer2 (16570) in Paris. I wear Timex/Casio in B.A. Argentina.

If you can stretch the budget a little then maybe get into vintage DateJust territory. Always looked at them like old men watches, but I've taken a liking to them recently. Quite a few options dial wise and hard wearing enough for general usage. The size of these sounds like what you're after

I always take this casio as my main travel Watch. As I often go in places in which any more pricey Watch would attract unwanted attention. It's also very nice to know that if it gets broken, for 10$ I can buy a new one. It's my, I don't care watch, I lost once the same Ref when I hit a rock while doing some Rafting.

so i bought the baltic acquaspahe. . just too big and bulky (i prefer the bb58)

then this came. . quick swap bracelet and. . voila

i think the acquascaphe probably goes. . and i'm not sure this fits the classic definition of a travel watch but i think this is a keeper

It’s no diver but it’s also replaceable and somewhat water resistant. If you sell the Aquascaphe, the buyer will want that bracelet ...

The bracelets are available separately.

Totally agree with this... I recently bought the BOR bracelet for my Aquascaphe but it only lasted one weekend and then back to the rubber. I absolutely love the Aquascaphe but the bracelet just made it too bulky.

Just to close the loop here

I think these baltics are just spectacular for the money. And the acquaschape on tropic strap and bicompax on bracelet are just no brainers...

Rado Captain Cook reissue - available in 37mm, 42mm and 45mm, stainless steel or titanium, fabric, beads of rice or rivet bracelet, and also a range of colours. Here’s a green one on BoR, and my blue one in titanium on canvas - which I use as a bashable wear on holiday watch:

i bought a Rado golden horse 1957 LE as well. . .but given how much i like the baltic bi-compax on a bracelet that one might be in the sales forums soon

It’s not perfect (no jumping hour hand) but so far I am liking my Steinhart. 39mm, Nice ETA 2893-2 movement, quick set date, independent GMT hand, 120 click uni direction bezel, sapphire crystal etc. Nice easy to adjust bracelet too. This one was gently used and $350, new premium version runs around $700. Functions well, looks good, and I won’t cry too much if it ends up with a mugger or hotel staff.
