Strange ... Most of us love the watch and the bracelet.. In fact I just bought another bracelet for my Bi Compax.

Hmm.. Maybe this is growing on me
Is the answer a baltic bicompax on a bracelet??

interesting. i just sold my 2 vintage yemas. what's the depth on these ?

i have looked at Super Squale, omegas, haven't found anything that fits the bill

I don't know exactly, but not much - very thin caseband. Has a perfect vintage feel - might even be the same thickness as an original Superman, I'm not sure.

love the look on the blue/gray

13mm thickness. . not too much ?

Ah yeah, the website has them listed at 13mm. Either for the regular Superman, or the GMT. It's a wonderful watch with lovely dimensions

Zenith Defy classic. Super comfortable and light (titanium), super thin (10.75mm), fantastic movement and a legendary brand name. You can find a used one for about $3k.

Other option: Rolex Air King 14010m. Probably one the best watches you can buy sub $2,500 in my opinion.

I use a Damasko DS30 when I travel. It is not a GMT but it is a great watch and the hardened submarine steel does not have a scratch, but has left scratches on my strap changing tool.

My daily beater is a seamaster 2264. You can find em for around $1500 in really good condition if you look around. If you look really hard you can get it just over 1k.

My second recommendation is a helson Sharkmaster.

Both of these come in just over 40mm but I doubt you'll notice .5mm on the helson or 1mm on the seamaster. The seamaster is super thin so that's a big plus.

As for bracelets, you can always go aftermarket. Uncle seiko or strapcode has decent options

Yeah this is pretty awesome. Maybe I'll sell the acquaschape and buy a bicompax on a bracelet and call it a day

It wont be as versatile as a real diver, but you might like it better.

Some attractive watches have been suggested here. However I determined quite some years ago never to wear a good watch again when travelling, after I had a good Rolex ripped off my wrist in Naples. I chased the bastard but ended up in ER, licking my wounds and regretting not following my wife's advice to leave the watch in the hotel safe.
So despite having a collection of vintage and modern watches I take real pleasure in, what I wear overseas is a tough, ugly, titanium Traser quartz that has super night illumination and is as rugged as a tank. And if I lose it it can be replaced for under USD 500.

This is a very good point. Plus good luck replacing said Rolex these days if stolen. I always carry a Timex or an old Victorinox diver for sketchy areas. Two falls ago I was asked to remove my Rolex in a chaotic security checkpoint at a busy cultural spot in Spain, I got into a bit of an argument with the staff but was allowed to keep it. I never would have seen it again on the other side of the scanner.

Wildcard entry following on from post above , how about a Citizen GMT world time Eco-Drive . And comes in under £200.00 & at that price easily replaced .

Some great suggestions.
I totally agree that you need to be careful when travelling.
I wear this Casio M5610BC. Syncs with the atomic clock, several time zones etc but I know it won’t please people who insist on mechanicals.
I really like those Yemas that @abrod520 suggested.

I think if it were me with your budget I’d buy something rugged and cheap for travel then something vintage and lovely with what’s left over and leave it at home. He he. Not helpful. Sorry.

Classic design, great heritage, in house movement, indestructible, low key, elapsed time bezel could be used for multiple time zones, cult following. All for less than $500.
