·Would be great if they would be flexible and maybe include the rubber strap if you buy the bracelet. Maybe include an Omega watch winder or other "goodies" to offset not offering a straight discount. Just covering taxes would be a major thing too.

·I tried out the watch at the Omega Boutique last week. The new size is great and it looks terrific but it has one big flaw, the bezel is very hard to turn. The scalloped design is hard to grip. Form over function unfortunately.

My bezel turns smoothly, without loud clicking. I find it takes exactly the right amount of effort turning and pushing down, which I would say is just above "effortless". I think it possible the bezel you were testing had something wrong with it.

·There was a guy standing next to me trying out an identical model who was also having difficulty. However, having owned an older model Seamaster, he had developed a push down and turn action which helped. Also possibly because the watches were brand new they were stiffer than usual.

·Went to my local boutique today and tried on the black with both rubber and bracelet and then a blue with rubber.
I was all set to order a blue with bracelet but after seeing and trying on, it didn’t rock my boat like I thought it would. Kind of surprised as I really love my 2541 quartz that is earmarked for my son.
I think I’m going to hang on to my Planet Ocean instead.

·i walked into an AD today and while I was there, a gentleman was placing a deposit on a new Seamaster. The salesperson told me that they have had a ton of people leave a deposit but several who paid the full price up front in the hopes of "being bumped up" the priority list to get the watch first.

·Just saw a couple at my local OB...
The high contrast white numbers on black bezel reminded me of the vintage 135 models...
Notice the addition of the "10" marker on the bezel insert...not present on the previous generations...

Did not realise that until you mentioned the 10 marker. Makes it good for symmetry I guess.

·I had the chance to finnally check it out yesterday at the Frankfurt OB.
I have to say im throughout impressed by this watch. While owning a previous version (2254) and thinking that I wouldn't like it due to the incresed thichkness and size, I just went in and tried to look at it without beeing biased and just check out the watch for what it is.
And by doing so, without constantly comparing it to what I'm used to or what I think this watch should be, I have to say it's a fantastic watch for the money!
Ceramic dial and bezel, applied indices, inhouse movement, date at 6 is way more subtle as it was before at 3, a well finished case, display caseback, solid feel of the bracelet with micro adjustable clasp and all of that for 4.5k € retail (and possibly cheaper on the grey marked).
Apart from the name or Image people attach to Rolex, this watch for me is on the same level as the Sub, for considerably less money! And it's readily available 😁.

On the bezel turning issue: I really don't get it. I had three or four different models of the SMP in hand and the bezels where smooth as butter and very easy to turn. Either gripping it at 12 and 6, or even at 9 and 3 (as the bezel every so slightly prodtrudes over the edge of the case).

Yes, also the blue one is always different picture by picture. 😀 When it’ll hit the OB here finally, I think I’ll have a tough decision to make. 😀

Here are photos I got at an OB. They didn't have plain blue they had two tone. It's the worst place to take pictures. Same feeling that waves are not too strong. Didn't love the bracelet as much as I thought. It's flatter but also comes off a bit duller because of it IMO

I stopped by my OB to see if Ultraman had landed and the 300 had just come in! This is one of the most impressive pieces I’ve seen in awhile. The build quality is extraordinary, especially at this price point. Omega really knocked it outta the park with this one, I couldn’t resist.
After looking at photos, I was skeptical about the wave. Seeing it in person everything changed - it’s so dynamic. It’s subtle in most light but when it catches just right it grabs your eyes and doesn’t let go!

Amazing photos, thanks for sharing! Just one question out of curiousity... what's your wrist size? Does it wear bigger or smaller than the 43.5mm PO?

Wrist is about 6.4", flat. It wears a bit smaller than the 43.5mm PO IMO - it wears very similar to my GMT Master II 116710LN. I will get out the caliper and do more measurements but the lug to lug is about 49.5mm.

·I hope they do a sword hand version with the speedy-style bracelet, ie. a modern 2254/2231 Blake style SMP...maybe next year?

·And one more thing....Omega should have been placing the date window at 6 o'clock from day 1 to differentiate themselves from Rolex. This new SMP and the the new Aqua Terra demonstrate that it makes for a much nicer dial layout.
