During today’s Speedy Tuesday event at the European Space Agency Visitor Center in The Netherlands, Omega introduced the new Speedmaster X-33. Meet the Marstimer ref. 318.90.45.79.01.003. It’s the fourth generation of the Speedmaster X-33, largely based on the X-33 Skywalker. It has the same 45mm × 14.7mm titanium case and the same bracelet. So what’s […]

Here to say I absolutely love it. The colour of the bezel is beautiful. It would be difficult to spend $10k CAD (taxes in) on this one, but man, if this was $5k it would be an insta-buy. Nicely done by Omega. 👍

Looks great, a spacefarer's toolwatch after all...
I just wondered if there was some feedback given on how both X-33 Speedmaster chronographs held up during the 4 hours long ISS spacewalk of August 17, 2022 ?
After all a SpeedyTuesday event and that would be the first question on my lips as the MarsTimer will probably be used on the surface of the red planet !

As an owner of a gen2 X-33 I like it and kind of cool.

However all the price rises mean £6k is a big ask for a quartz and why the Skywalker is a slow seller. I’d need a good discount to tempt me..

It looks like the PET functions only work on earth time. Jan, can you confirm that is true, or may PETs be set against any of the Mars time zones? Asking for a friend 😉

EDIT: I found my error. PETs may be established against any time zone, including Mars time zones. I won't need that feature anytime soon, but its nice to know (for my friend)!

I like it but I can tell you this much from my personally experience. Omega will never see another penny from me till I receive the Snoopy that I paid for over 2 years ago now. The Whole Snoopy experience has turned me off the brand so much its not even funny. Rolex plays games as well but they dont take your money for 2 years without a single word on when to expect the watch.

If I didn't already own a Gen 2, I would be finding this one on my wrist! It's really cool that they specifically developed this one for Mars. I hope that in my lifetime that man will set foot there...until then, this was beautifully executed! Great job, Omega!

Im sorry your AD is bad. You also should have known… what your experiencing is totally normal in the watch world.

I don't think other watch companies are taking full payment for an unknown delivery date years in the future.

Before your next flight to Mars, make sure you have a brand new battery because a round trip to Mars will likely take close to the 24 month battery life span 😀 Unless there is an Omega AD on Mars of course...

I’m underwhelmed. I think £6k is very steep for a quartz watch and really who needs to tell the time on Mars, besides maybe a tiny handful of scientists who will doubtless already have other ways to do so when they are working. But then I didn’t complain about the tachymeter on my beloved Speedy Pro and I’m sure almost no one uses that feature…

The hype train is waiting for passengers. Plenty of seats available.

Question, is this the last Speedmaster for the year, or will they have something for the 50th anniversary of the last man on the moon?
