Does anyone think the price of the current SMP may increase on the pre-owned market?

Lately on this and other forums I have noticed that members will look up my posts and reference them. In most forums you can actually see who has checked your profile recently as well. If you did look most of my contributions are about hands on smp models.
Please stop posting until I have a chance to catch up. You're already at 25. I'll let you know when I've gone through them and you can start again...

the bracelet is very toolish

It's a revamp / reuse of the old Bond style bracelets from the SMPs of the 80's and 90's. 馃憤

Unless it has a built-in flathead or torx tool bit, I don't know what a toolish bracelet is.

Not so you'd notice.

Omg, the new hours hand is awful 馃ぎ

Really narrow at the base and wide at the end.

Am I the only one who noticed?!

Did anyone notice the Sedna gold version is a no date? Didn鈥檛 see anyone comment on it. If the no date was in the blue version it would look fantastic.

This rendition reminds me of my experience of trying "Cajun" food at a restaurant after moving from New Orleans to Stockholm, Sweden. It had the right name (Gumbo), it looked like gumbo, but it did not taste like gumbo. I did not like it, but everyone else who had never had "real gumbo" thought it was great.

I think it is a great looking watch, but only if you allow it to stand alone and not compare it to previous models, especially the 2254 and 2531. If one loves sword hands then they should just buy a used 2254 or other sword hands model and wear it and love it. If I want real gumbo, I order it when I go back to New Orleans.

The problem I have now is... do I spend roughly $2,000 on a used 2531 or buy a grey market new seamaster ceramic for $2700? I wanted the new watch to solve this dilemma for me, but it has not. Wave dial and a classic or more bang for the buck.
Lol...Great analogy. I live in mandeville now but was in New Orleans for years before the kids so I know exactly what you mean!

I still don鈥檛 understand why omega didn鈥檛 put an applied logo on this. I didn鈥檛 notice that it didn鈥檛 have it at first, but now it just sours it for me every time I look at it. And the way the bracelet connects to the Watch should have been implemented better in my opinion.

Wow I missed that. Looks clean.

I totally agree that it is a step back. They fix it with the next bond limited edition though 馃槜

I鈥檓 surprised no one has commented yet on the bigger and uglier helium escape valve.
You mean the escape valve that can now be operated underwater?

LOL, that's useful.

I've never been a fan of the Seamaster 300M and nothing in the new releases changes that for me.

I'd rather wear this $147 diver any day, to each their own...
Much as I like the Seiko 5, it's a Diver in name only.

If the intention of the new shape of the helium valve is to up the watch' diver's credentials, how about ditching the scalloped bezel? That thing is downright impossible to turn when wet or when wearing gloves. Looks great though 馃槈

Sure. It says good to 100m, which surpasses any depth I鈥檇 ever achieve by at least 97m.

I don鈥檛 dive, and anyone I know who does has a superior dive computer they rely on much more than any watch.

Are you planning to use this watch for diving? Won鈥檛 the laser etched waves make reading the dial even more difficult as you approach 300m underwater?

That scalloped edge is the biggest reason I鈥檝e never liked this model. Makes the watch look defective to my eyes as it moves and the variable edge catches the light. I know I鈥檓 unusual in my lack of love for this model (and I鈥檓 not in love with the sub either...)

Maxi dials are amazing. I鈥檓 actually pretty happy with these. Not crazy about the exhibition caseback, but looking forward to checking them out in person in a few hours.
