Guys check this out, one of @Robert-Jan's pics from the launch event. Shows the other steel dial versions but more importantly it shows the bracelet, which looks like its end links and narrow link design are modeled on the 7077 of the early constellations

The bezel kills it for me.
Otherwise I would like it.
Give it a low small bezel and let
the crystal bubble show and you got me

I understand the differences and why they did it, but any average person will ask about your "Rolex" when they see the watch. Bezel kills it for me 😀

IMHO Gerald Genta would not approve. The iconic Constellation of the 1950's-60's centered on one major design element. The pie pan dial was articulated by the minute hashes just inside the facets. In this design, the coin edge bezel distracts the eye away from the facets. It is a collage without focus.

I have to say... It's no Tresor... Which really knocked my socks off.... But the fluted bezels are magic under natural light...
No pictures can really capture it...

But here's a few more to add to the other 'R.J.'s'... ( must be something with RJs and omega)

I May try to find a vintage globemaster

This is an attempt to give us a new pie pan Constellation that Omega knows we want, without changing the definition of a modern Constellation, i.e., claws. Very calculated. We may at some point see one of these with a smooth bezel as well.

Common can there be any doubt what this is when, as Ash said, we have this..

you nailed it

Want! 😁

Will never be able to afford. 🙁
Alas, do not despair , there are many in your shoes. It is not just that Omega has watched us plunk down $4000-5000 on old vintage Constellations and decided we have deep pockets. The prestige watch world has evolved a specific pricing structure that is part of the image elite brands. If you want to be near the top, you have to look like you belong there in both quality and price. It is the world we live in.

One has to decide, do I collect Diamonds or Garnets? If you like Diamonds you can not complain about their price

Second Job? 😁

Ablogotwatch had a nice write up with some really nice live pics.

Omega usually nails blue dials but this one doesn't look very impressive. The blue dial on the bracelet looks kind of cheap IMO.

On the other hand, the white dial really highlights the pie-pan, which is one of the nicer features of this watch.

I'm also very confused about the bracelet in general. If any watch in the lineup should have PCL's, I would think it is this one.

Something just doesn't look right with it.

I think a white dial on a strap is the way to go with this watch.

All in all, I think it was a good effort to bring some life back into the Connie lineup.

But at $7,700 for SS, I'm not convinced.

Seriously, not getting where all the Datejust crap is coming from. It has a piepan dial, a Connie star, C-shaped case, and a coin edge; this thing screams classic, iconic '60s Constellation.

I personally wasn't referring to the look of the watch, but where some the people came from who now work at Omega...

I really like the steel with blue dial version, even if it really reminds me of this model :

Baton hands, fluted bezel and pie pan dial, a lot in common?
