馃憥 A thumb down from me. I'm not a fan of fluted bezels. Here's the street solution to smoothout that bezel 馃槣

They forgot the cyclops...

BTW, despite this I did purchase a PO titanium 45.5 today 馃榾

Inferiority complexes abound with Rolex vs Omega still, I see.

The above two look nothing alike; bezels and case designs are markedly different, and as I said earlier, the new Globemaster draws from C-case Constellations with coin edge bezels holding caliber 751s. not the muted fluted edges and straight leg designs of the Datejust. For those of you that need the reminder/refresher, here is where Omega drew their inspiration from, other Omegas. Credit forum members Privateday7 and Alpenschneerot on the use of their pics:

I really like the unobtrusive date window at six. Keeps the dial looking clean.

@Wetworks, fair enough. Not big on that bezel type (my guess many are not either given how little these are seen compared to all the other wonderful Omega watches). I chalk that up to the same as an all white speedy. Disappointment still remains.

Unimpressed.......A pastiche of historic design elements.....The sum is less, than the parts

It's a lot nicer to my eye than the current Constellations with the rather strident =O= bars at 9 and 3 ...

Does the dial look set back really far from the glass or is that just me?

For those saying Omega took a page from Rolex's book... does this dial remind you guys of anything?

The only thing I like about it is the Globemaster script...

Have to say, between the caseback, dial and direction I like this one a great deal, and I think we'll be seeing more cases in the future including some more familiar faces from the past. I really don't get the Datejust comparison either, looks nothing like it, clearly a C-Case coin-edge case.

This is an attempt to give us a new pie pan Constellation that Omega knows we want, without changing the definition of a modern Constellation, i.e., claws. Very calculated. We may at some point see one of these with a smooth bezel as well.

Come on, can there be any doubt what this is when, as Ash said, we have this..

I actually didn't notice initially but the Caseback even has Constellation engraved on the outer edge, so it is a Constellation Globemaster

The Platinum reference has no date at 6. Interesting... maybe other refs will have no date, numerals at the poles, etc.

I'm liking the stainless blue dial but I wouldn't kick the gold one out of bed, before we all jump to conclusions I for one would like to see them in the flesh.

You have the script but you don't have a Constellation. Neither could you have the star with it, nor the pie-pan dial, nor the coin edged bezel. These are some of the best and sought after design elements from the vintage Constellation line. And you can get all of these in a watch now that you couldn't before, in a very wearable size to boot. I'd say the designers know their history, as well as the vintage market demand, very well. They're definitely not someone else's wannabe.

Honestly, this may have surpassed the AT Teak Grey as my next purchase. It's almost perfect. The 39mm is a bit off-putting, but it may force the hand of a certain vintage guy to give this a sniff.馃槜

Just don't like it - just plain ugly for me and a big miss. Perhaps it was designed by the zenith designer who made those ugly modern zeniths a few years ago. Or maybe Chris Bangle is now designing watches for omega.
