Inferiority complexes abound with Rolex vs Omega still, I see.
The above two look nothing alike; bezels and case designs are markedly different, and as I said earlier, the new Globemaster draws from C-case Constellations with coin edge bezels holding caliber 751s. not the muted fluted edges and straight leg designs of the Datejust. For those of you that need the reminder/refresher, here is where Omega drew their inspiration from, other Omegas. Credit forum members Privateday7 and Alpenschneerot on the use of their pics:

路@Wetworks, fair enough. Not big on that bezel type (my guess many are not either given how little these are seen compared to all the other wonderful Omega watches). I chalk that up to the same as an all white speedy. Disappointment still remains.

路路Ash @ 惟FHave to say, between the caseback, dial and direction I like this one a great deal, and I think we'll be seeing more cases in the future including some more familiar faces from the past. I really don't get the Datejust comparison either, looks nothing like it, clearly a C-Case coin-edge case.

路The Platinum reference has no date at 6. Interesting... maybe other refs will have no date, numerals at the poles, etc.

路路Vintage Omega AficionadoJust don't like it - just plain ugly for me and a big miss. Perhaps it was designed by the zenith designer who made those ugly modern zeniths a few years ago. Or maybe Chris Bangle is now designing watches for omega.
