We explained the Master Chronometer definition in this article yesterday. Today, we had a closer look at the Omega Globemaster and I have to say that my enthusiasm of yesterday evening during the official launch event was still there when seeing the watch in a more ‘quiet’ environment. Gorgeous watch! It's not the Railmaster everyone anticipated. It does resemble the Rolex Datejust quite a bit but it's different. I like the stainless one. Beer can tastes I guess......

It resembles the 168.027 C-Case with coin-edge bezel more than anything, the Datejust is a very different design with deep fluting on the bezel.

I love it and since I'm not much of a precious metal guy, I'll have the stainless steel please.

It is me, or do the hands and hour markers lack any of the classic Omega styling?

Really. Wouldn't a set of dauphine hands make it better?

Not so fond of the white dial; tho the blue dial is nice. I personally think the pie pan doesn't quite go well with the fluted bezel, so I suspect it's because us vintage fans have been used to see them (fluted bezel, pie pan) on different styled watches.

The way they included the Observatory on the caseback is very clever though, nicely done.

The Sedna gold one is nice too. I think if I win the lottery I'm going to book a trip to Switzerland and just start watch shopping and buying. I would likely get about 6 for myself and then some for friends and relatives.
