I’ve seen this car at car shows before. The owner was never with the car. I went to a car show near me on Sunday morning, and there was lots to see. But this car was there, and the owner was with it. This is an Avanti II (as n 2). Based on the original Studebaker Avanti built by Studebaker in South Bend, Indiana. This one was built in South Bend, but by a later maker. Corvette engine and running gear, Studebaker Lark convertible chassis, fibreglass body, and many trim parts made using original Studebaker dies. Produced for only two years (1962-63), this car was designed to be the salvation of Studebaker. By 1963, the South Bend plant stopped production, and by 1966, the Hamilton (Ontario) plant also folded. This happens to be my very own absolutely favourite automobile design, ever! This car wins awards wherever the owner takes it.

2022 Queensland Porsche Club Concours

Some really terrific cars, the first RWB I’ve seen in Brisbane, 2022 cup car, many GT cars, some stunning 930s and a gorgeous dark green 968

You mean to tell me that driving one to Starbucks is NOT their intention?

I've begun thinking the Singers and Rufs of the world should start looking at converting 996 and 997 Turbos with Tiptronic/PDK transmissions into 6-speeds

Unless you are just trying to have a big turbo drag monster lol

Hello everyone. My name is Won from Malaysia, and I'm new to this forum. Any automotive junkies? 😀 Just thought I'd share some of my highlights of 2014:

You know I’m just not sure you’d see that much uptake, everyone’s all save the manuals and whatnot but the most heavily driven and enjoyed turbos on average are the tiptronic and pdk ones. It probably doesn’t help that nearly all the 911 manuals since the 991 was introduced are also not H-pattern manuals but rather PDK boxes converted to 7 speed manuals to handle the power, and that gearbox is pretty clunky to use, while the nice 6-speed that the GT division has can’t handle the torque of a turbo in spite of how nicely it shifts.

Yeah from what I understand the Tips and PDKs in the 996/997 Turbos are actually quite stout. There are plenty of people running 600HP+ no problem on their stock transitionals.
I've been wanting to replace my daily for some time now (but am holding off due to the current market) and I have been looking a bit harder at the 997.2/991 in the PDK variety since they can be had for a bit cheaper in most cases.
Which is good because I have a hard time justifying spending a lot of money on a daily driver. Or just a lot of money at all...I'm pretty cheap lol.
