A friend stopped by today with his 1956 Ford half-ton. This truck was previously owned by a guy who spent about 40 years slowly building it into his dream truck. After he passed away, his widow sat on it for several years before she decided my friend should have it. The engine is a 390 ci V8 out of a ‘67 Thunderbird. It has a rare 3-2 barrel carb set up, custom aluminum valve covers, an ignition system of his own design, C-6 automatic transmission, more modern Ford differential, disc front brakes, drum rear brakes. The box is partly new and partly original. Stock suspension all around. Paint is a 1970 Datsun colour, custom blended, and $1,000 a gallon. Maple box floor made of wood from the gym floor of a demolished 100 year old school. All new chrome. My friend has been working on this project for 15 years, and it is now complete.
