3575.20!

And the moonphase is already set to help me plan when to drag out our telescope and annoy my kid with space facts.

Found in gold plated case but after few years decided to recase it. 馃グ
Wow! That really suits it.

In love with watches from the 30s/40s.
Found a nice anonymous watch powered by an early landeron movement which ticked all the boxes:

- stepped case
- black "snail" dial
- flexible lugs
- 38mm in diameter (looks huge on the wrist)

Local find. 1972 Willard. Underneath that beat up crystal appears to be an amazing dial. Running -2s/day @ an amplitude of 172潞 and 0.1ms beat error with no service history. Not bad for $800!

You got dibs if I want to off load it

I just love it when those old Seiko divers still have a pink-ish red lume plot on the seconds hand. Congrats!

Wish I hadn't. Long time seller with 100% positive feedback and crappy photos. First time it didn't work out for me. If anybody has a dial for sale let me know 馃榿

I鈥檝e had a lot of good news lately and wanted to make a fun purchase in way of celebrating. My first watch purchase of the year happens to be my first Super Compressor. This one from the 70鈥檚 and I love the styling of it. It鈥檚 also coming with a vintage tropic strap. Really looking forward to this one arriving.

That thing looks awesome! It also looks like it's been hiding in a safe for 50 years.

Congrats on your good news!

Random question: does the red lume on the second react to UV at all? Or is it just painted red? I always love when colored, vintage lume survives.

Looks not to bad, are you sure it's not just the lens letting the dial appearance down?

Matt black dials can be tricky especially in harsh lighting, from your image it looks like possibly some fading in the upper segment.
I bought a similar looking watch 2 weeks ago and what I thought was dial damage was actually a discoloration of the lens on the dial side between 10 and 12 or X and XII.

I鈥檓 actually curious if @Tony C. might know? I just found that he sold a cousin of this piece back in 2020. He also posted a cool photo of an ad for the Precimax line in his listing, which shows the red tipped seconds hand. 馃榾

Nope it's the dial. My guess is someone who didn't know what they were doing tried to clean it.
