This in today after a hard fought auction, 157 bids later it was mine, the other serious bidder a well known Roamer enthusiast.
I can well understand the desire for this example with it's unusual and rare dial configuration, separate outer chapter ring having no minute track only the lume dots with it's PM ( promethium) marking on it.
The minute track resides on the dial which I presume is a predecessor of the later no outer separate minute track which Roamer switched to on its later watches, sort of a crossover in design.
Also unusual is the cross hair dial with the cross hair being machined into the surface of the dial not printed on hence it's shiny bright metal appearance.
Original crown and RW marked lens though it needs further work to bring it back to an acceptable standard not just my brief Autosol metal polish of it.
The watch itself is in lovely running condition with no rattles from the oscillating weight but the movement is in desperate need of a service running about 600 secs a day slow!
Unpolished case and original expander bracelet ( well, installed sometime in the 60's).
Also have an unusual Roamer Stingray MST471 in a large square case with chocolate brown dial and Roman numerals coming in later this week, photos later when in my hands again.
Roamer 44 jewel MST437
As always happens this looks wonderful in the flesh on the wrist but my photos look very poor under the harsh lighting.
As arrived
