A Seiko "Soccer Timer" with the 8M32 "Dancing Hands" movement!
I swear, I'll be something classy again one day. Until then, it's more oddball quartz Seikos for me.
Neat idea!
Did not know this existing, now I want one!
Just picked up a beautiful 3551.20
Going tomorrow to change out the bracelet - will post photos tomorrow!
Had these come in the mail last week, both 6125 movement. The white dial has a non functional day adjuster and the blue chapter ring piece I bought for parts. Going to swap the movement and dial over from integrated bracelet case to get a cheap watch and experience with vintage seiko movements. I take my first watchmaking classes next week.
For my wrists these are a perfect size for a diver. I've always admired that vintage Submariner look, but I don't have any interest in paying that much for a watch. Plus 39mm is a bit big for my tastes. Early 90s boy-size tudors can be had for a reasonable amount, but at 36mm they are a bit small for a diver IMHO. These Tags are just perfect, but I am not quartz fan. When I found out you can do a movement swap, I was sold. This one has been upgraded with a sapphire crystal and pressure tested. It will be my sort of non-vintage, vintage watch.
Double duty today...both here and WRUW. This was kind of an impulse buy yesterday, but I've been jonesing for another Tudor (The Heritage Chrono Monte Carlo was a boat anchor; it went back. I couldn't bond with it). This one is just awesome. Slab-sided for some, fits and feels great to me.
I had no idea. Mind you, I have a soft spot for my 1990 Tag 1000. My first (kinda) decent watch. I wore the hell out of it for roughly 17 years and it still runs well. I'll keep the quartz for now, but love the fact there's an opportunity for a 2824 swap. Thank you for the insight!
