A Seiko "Soccer Timer" with the 8M32 "Dancing Hands" movement!

I swear, I'll be something classy again one day. Until then, it's more oddball quartz Seikos for me.

Did not know this existing, now I want one!

Incoming 37.5mm mid 80s Tag Heuer diver. I am having a ETA 2824 movement installed. It is basically a drop in replacement for the quartz movement.

Neat idea!

For my wrists these are a perfect size for a diver. I've always admired that vintage Submariner look, but I don't have any interest in paying that much for a watch. Plus 39mm is a bit big for my tastes. Early 90s boy-size tudors can be had for a reasonable amount, but at 36mm they are a bit small for a diver IMHO. These Tags are just perfect, but I am not quartz fan. When I found out you can do a movement swap, I was sold. This one has been upgraded with a sapphire crystal and pressure tested. It will be my sort of non-vintage, vintage watch.

I seem to be going through a little bit of a vintage digital watch phase at the moment - Casio have re-released some classics so probably going to pick up a calculator watch very soon - this one seems cool! 😀

Had these come in the mail last week, both 6106 movement. The white dial has a non functional day adjuster and the blue chapter ring piece I bought for parts. Going to swap the movement and dial over from integrated bracelet case to get a cheap watch and experience with vintage seiko movements. I take my first watchmaking classes next week.

Sounds like a fun project.

I had no idea. Mind you, I have a soft spot for my 1990 Tag 1000. My first (kinda) decent watch. I wore the hell out of it for roughly 17 years and it still runs well. I'll keep the quartz for now, but love the fact there's an opportunity for a 2824 swap. Thank you for the insight!

Double duty today...both here and WRUW. This was kind of an impulse buy yesterday, but I've been jonesing for another Tudor (The Heritage Chrono Monte Carlo was a boat anchor; it went back. I couldn't bond with it). This one is just awesome. Slab-sided for some, fits and feels great to me.

I like that you got the previous gen. I haven't seen the new ones in person, but for some reason I really prefer the diamond marker on the seconds hands.

Agreed, not to mention the matching crown tube! Cheers!

It is not possible to swap the movements on all of them. It depends on the case. My understanding is the first iteration (Pre Tag), and the L versions can be swapped. Mine is the 980.013L.

Just in today.
Roamer Anfibio 414-1120.003
Matches my Anfibio 430-1120.003.
Date and Dateless models.
The lighting in my dial shot is a bit harsh and it actually looks a lot better than the photo portrays

Got this one on Saturday. 24 years old Seiko skx013. Sold my 007 for this slimmer one.
