I wasn't looking to add another watch, but I couldn't resist a good dumpster dive. Ref 6072-2, with a serial that dates to 1946. Gilt dial, gray/green lume, and syringe hands. Had for under 100 usd.

At 31 mm, it's a bit small for me, but I think it'll make a nice gift for my sister.

Seiko Rotocall! I love this thing. I wish they'd reissue it.

Can't believe the strap actually fits me, too!

I stopped by my local AD today to place a pre-order for the Seiko 5 Sports 55th Anniversary Bruce Lee Limited Edition. While the sales associate was taking my information, the owner walked over to say hello. He stepped away and came back with a watch for me. The black dial makes it hard to take a picture without seeing the reflection of my iPhone so I attached two stock photos of the watch.

I bought this mainly for the bracelet, which I plan to add to a different watch. But this DS arrived looking better than expected. There's not a turtle on the case back, so I believe it may be a patent pending case. Now, my problem is that I feel compelled to look for another Gay Frères bracelet.

That DS is looking absolutely gorgeous on that GF bracelet. Congratulations! I think early models didn't feature a turtle case back so it is as rare as it is beautiful. 👍

New addition to the family. It just got delivered today. Omega Constellation 14902 gold capped. I'm thrilled with how nice of a condition it's in. The lugs are super sharp!

I've been so good for so long, but these threw themselves at me for ~us$150 for the women's Connie, and ~us$60 for the Enicar:

This one Vacheron & Constantin, Ref. 33003, Cal. 1003, 18K. It is amazing in real, extremely thin. One handles it automatically quite carefully, fearing to break it. The height of the movement is 1.6 mm only! It was the thinnest mechanical movement in the 60s. Adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions. And with Geneva seal. Diameter 31 mm without crown.

The market does not really favor them presently, but I think that the fashion will turn to elegant watches for men again in the future, instead of massiv watches ...

I've been a bit busy buying stuff lately ... but this unworn Japanese market SPB359J "Laurel" reissue caught my eye when it released but I wasn't able to grab one. One showed up in January but I missed out. then 2 popped up last week and there was no way I was missing out. First one had already sold but managed to snag the second one. Just my luck! Now it sits in custom ... apparently the seller didn't submit a watch worksheet. Called DHL today, marked it up best I could based on our old thread and submitted the form. I should get a payment notification by tomorrow evening.

This one came to me last month, on my birthday, by surprise. It was very dirty, and someone put a wrong part in and displaced a jewel to fit it 😲

With a service, the right part and the jewel back in place:

Japanese providence, no lume, 35mm but wears even bigger, and onyx indices I think? Happy lad.
