After stopping by my local Rolex AD last week to check-in on my "wish list", I headed over to the OB to take a look at the new 75th Anniversary Seamaster Aqua Terra and Diver 300M. While both were nice watches, they just didn't scratch the itch for me.

After looking at a few other watches, I ended taking home a De Ville Trésor. It is not sexy and it is a bit plain but it is something different in my collection.

This one arrived in this morning.

Roamer MST523 SEAROCK Automatic, the last of the fully in-house calibres that Roamer made with Quickset date, Quickset day, Hacking and with micro regulator but at only 17 Jewels a bit of a comedown on their earlier 44 and 28 Jewel movements and as far as I can tell only made for a short time and due to that a little rare.

Roamer moved into its own Quartz movements around this time and also employed ETA and other movements as the world transitioned thru the Quartz crisis.

Works very well and other than the non OEM crown and cracked lens its in very good condition for its age.

I have had to extensively polish the lens so that I could confirm that the dial looks as it did new but unfortunately the lens is cracked and fissured in a few places but good enough to let me know its potential.

The caseback looks almost new.

Just bought this Seiko. Apparently serviced but the condition is so good that I have some doubts about originality - given that it’s a 1972 watch.

That said, I didn’t buy it as a collectible but as a wearer. I very much like my f300 but it is too nice a watch for some of my jaunts and I wanted an old wearer but with a similar case, similar blue dial and just date (I’m not into day/date) so….

Another Swatch:

This one also from Shop Goodwill, shipping was more than the watch. Also took forever for Fex-ex to deliver it. No box which would defeat the point as I wanted to see how these are put together. My other Swatches have their boxes and are mostly unworn.

This is much larger than I expected as close to 42mm. It also looks like there should be a calendar disk. Or they were just going for the open dial look. The parts seem to be intentionally colored to stand out. Have not attempted to try a battery in it. The crystal could use some polywatch.

I picked up this Orient Chronoace for £10.
Quite a cool watch, unusual anyhow! Runs very well and all the functions work, which is a bonus.
It needs a good thorough cleaning and a new black strap...the gunge is pretty gross 😁

Counting down to the weekend with this ol’ crusty dial
Oh woops, meant to post this in the WRUW but hell, this will work too. LOL. Got it back from a warranty service the other week as the dial wasn't properly seated so it rattled a little bit.

After getting my Seiko, I thought I’d keep an eye out for the appropriate bracelet. Well, as it happens, it came attached to another 7005-7130 and was cheaper than buying just a bracelet, so …..

Both original, Seiko vintage dials from 50s-70s can hold up really well even better than Omega in may cases IMO. Dont seem to have as much of the lacquer deterioration. Nice watches!

They both look too good to be 70 year old watches 😉

I decided to buy this Limited Edition Nomos Tangente. One of only 55 produced. I definitely like the Fibonacci series in the minute track and the the unique date indication and the reverse Panda subdial. The size is large and appears more so due to lack of a bezel. The midnight blue dial is a bit more subdued (and dull) compared to the release ads. Overall I'm happy with it.

I've put a pic in the GMT thread but wanted to share the story.
I'm in car sales and sold a guy a car and noticed that he wearing my dream watch. I was conscious that I was looking at it whilst he was talking so I told him. This started a conversation about the watch and he shared that he didn't wear it as much as he used to.
Anyway, he bought the car and was super happy with it. I followed up 48 hours later and he offered me the GMT at whatever cost the online valuation was accross a few sales sites. There was a long 72 hours before he came back with a price where I just couldn't refuse the opportunity to own my dream watch.
Needless to say I am super happy with the watch. It wears as well as my Seamaster 300m.
Once the honeymoon phase wears off I'm sure the Seamaster, Tudor etc will return from hibernation but for now

I wasn't looking to add another watch, but I couldn't resist a good dumpster dive. Ref 6072-2, with a serial that dates to 1946. Gilt dial, gray/green lume, and syringe hands. Had for under 100 usd.

At 31 mm, it's a bit small for me, but I think it'll make a nice gift for my sister.
