So one of my freinds who does a lot of costuming for the regional community theater was having the summer blow out sale this morning.

I stopped by not intending to buy anything. Mostly to say hello to friends. I mentioned I was still being obsessed with watches. Was shown a box of costume watches, Which included a Seiko 5. I made an offer and it was accepted.



The bracelet is completely wrong. Probably should know what the fat P is from. Like the other S-5 the crystal is full of cracks. I do not think Polywatch will help. I still need to get the crystal for the other S-5. Crystals online seem to be around 20 bucks. I have yet to find a source of cheap generic crystal. For the old stuff I still have the S LaRose assortment, but I think those have more curvature in the dome.

The watch actually ticks, which is always a good sign.

I usually open the bracelet clamp up as I like my watches to lay flat in the drawer of box.

I still want to use some of my scrap leather and make some new straps for my watches. Somehow I seem to have drifted away from my sewing projects. I used to do a lot of sewing. Like everything else such projects tend to take over more than the space allocated. The local makerspace has machines as well as the ones here. Although I miss my White Rotary which could sew leather.

I have access to the laser cutter, Somehow I never seem to have the time to drive the 7 miles and use it.

So, pretty awesome day in my household. 😁

More incoming! I'm continuing to add to my Technos collection based on how cool the model names sound.



Edit: I think the days of the week are in Portuguese. Not sure I've seen that before.

New to me: a very beat up, dirty old Monster. I got lucky and the bracelet fits me perfectly! Now... to give it a good scrub with a toothbrush...

Two monsters in one week! This one's the "Dracula". I'm going to be an embarrassing dad wear this all throughout October.

This beauty came in late last week. Very happy with how it looks in person. It needs cleaning and the date and second hands need to be replaced but all functions work.

Seiko 5126 "Double Hurricane"!

It's running ok but in a bit of rough shape... it was a late night impulse bid on eBay.

New one in the collection. Movado triple date moonphase ref 14921 from the 1950s. I'm very happy with the condition.
