It's official: I have terrible taste.

Some of you may want to shield your eyes from the WRUW thread while I model this thing.

Not all, I like your P01 and I almost bought one. To me it is a very interesting piece, but it was too big for my wrist when I tried it. Congrats on your polarizing acquisition!

Lol, thanks. I'm enjoying it so far, but they sure did make this thing big. My wrist is around 8", and it still just barely sort of fits.

This arrived today, sold as going order but like most seller descriptions they exaggerated it. Looks ok but will need repair, new glass and a thorough clean.
ETA enabled I am sure it will be an asset to the collection.

An old french lady.
No reference but clearly a 2648 in disguise. The crown is original.

The modern Seamasters never spoke to me, as I am more of a chronograph guy. But when I saw this 2298.80, I had to give it a try, picked it up today and I have to say, it had me at hallo. I instantly regretted not having any appreciation for the wave dial before and in combination with a Titanium case and a chronograph, I suddenly start to understand the late Chuck Maddox.

Ooof... This picture and lighting is desperately making me miss my very first Omega, the 2531.80

I much prefer vintage, but sometimes you need a go anywhere, all-weather watch. I applaud Vaer's efforts to do as much manufacturing in the US as they can at their price-point. USA made quartz movement and the watch is assembled in the US. Some complain second hand doesn't hit the ticks perfectly, but that doesn't bother me too much. Otherwise the fit and finish on the watch head is better than expected for $200, the bracelet is about what you would expect for the price. I'm a big fan of the 36mm case size too!

Nice poster.

I stand to be corrected but the '8’ in '168' generally indicates that the watch is a chronometer. The watch dial in the poster doesn’t specify ‘chronometer', so I’d assume (given that the Mexico Olympics were in 1968) that it’s more likely to be a '166'.
Not a new arrival but to add to this thread- my father was given this watch in 1968, in this box (not the greatest photo sorry)

Expecting this mythical unicorn to arrive at my door sometime next week. It has been a long search for a very unique, rare birth year watch and I finally found it. A Ranchero with a fully original dial and hands. It was manufactured on September 26, 1958, just a few weeks after I arrived. And it's coming with an extract from the archives to prove it. 😀

Incredible work to track that down. Wear it with pride.
Should you decide to sell it someday, I was 14 months old at that time. That has to count for something 😁

Bought this the other day ( Seller pics)
Looked nice in his photos and apart from the distinction of being a can of puss I quite like it, currently at my WM getting a refurb.

Good to know that I have plenty of OF members interested in buying it if I ever want to sell it, but that’s hard to imagine. Original Rancheros in good condition, especially black dialed ones, are few and far between.

Well, I’ve changed the strap - and it runs, so we’ll see
