1996 Speedmaster Professional reference 3590.50, caliber 861. One of the last Speedmasters with a tritium dial and hands.
If I were in the market for a Speedy today, that is what I would get. Prices are good, and still has the warm patina of tritium.
Agreed. This reference also has the fully brushed 1479 bracelet. I like the look and it is far more comfortable and fits better than many of the other bracelets in the Speedmaster Pro series.
Picked up this 1938 sport watch for my wife...dropped it off with my WM last week to be cleaned and oiled, and a new strap installed...hope to have it back Friday and gift it to her that evening.
Pretty sure I’m risking being drummed out of the OF for post loading with this new arrival, but it is one of those impulse buys that I probably won’t regret. This movement is the seller’s photo but this (stock 2472) movement is almost as pretty as the face.
Super excited about this new acquisition. A no-lume 14710 Seamaster with original bracelet and "perfect" condition. To me the condition is "perfect" in the sense that it has very little wear, but it not so pristine I am afraid to wear it. Original NOS crown is in the mail from @new_heuer, and then it is off to the watchmaker.
I took a punt on a cheap estate sale ‘bag of watches’ from the bay and got lucky (again) - a rose gold clamshell Cyma (not a ladies watch ) and a beautiful little Edox that I’ll gift to a daughter . There were also Seiko and Citizen quartz watches and a few leather straps to add to my spare parts collection.
This A&F limited edition of 300 joined my family today. Black PVD case with clear case back ,automatic and quick real ease straps. One in black and the other brown leather. Certainly a good beater.
Couple days ago picked form my watchmaker my new Omega 2169 from 1944. Always wanted one and finally sourced it in great condition.
Beautiful wearing condition . I have a great affinity for classic steel watches that have an honest wear to them .
The second Speedmaster of the new year. Been wearing it a few days now, so still in the honeymoon period, but impressed so far. Having owned the vintage version I can say it is true to form. Fit and finish is excellent. In these early days, the clasp is my only nit to pick - I do like it but.... would have been so easy to add one or two more adjustment positions - plenty of room to do so with no other change in design. Adding/subtracting links on newer Omega bracelets with the two-screws-and-a-pin is a real pita, at least for me. OK enough, need a lot more wrist time for further evaluation.
