Yes sir

I have the blue Ti Planet Ocean 8500 and love it, although I wear my blue Ti Planet Ocean 9300 the most. IMHO my Ti Planet Ocean beats any Submariner except the Hulk and the Smurf, but the Planet Ocean size it a better fit on my wrist than my Hulk.

On it's way from a German seller as I type. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but at 拢175ish for an ana-digi, solar powered, radio controlled titanium watch, I think it's a bit of a bargain 馃榾

Handsome. I like the idea of a solar powered watch. Don鈥檛 know much about them in terms of reliability but I鈥檓 done with quartz - don鈥檛 want to buy batteries any more. Self-winders have always seemed to me cleverer and more convenient than battery powered watches. I can see solar powered falling into the same category as self-winders.

Except when the cost of one self-winder mechanical service can buy 50 batteries for several watches... But yeah, Solar is much more convenient than needing a battery every 24-42 months.

One of the reasons I traded 7 Omega and Tudor watches towards just 3 Rolex in the past year is that I have 4 fewer watches to get serviced every 5 years. That saves me over $2000 over the 5 years of time, and it buys a lot of batteries for a lifetime.

Fair point. I guess I was thinking less about the cost, which I certainly will need to if I build a decent collection. The other side of it is that I find mechanical watches so much more interesting and attractive as things to own and cherish. Obviously solar watches don鈥檛 offer that romantic element, but they don鈥檛 need batteries either!

My first Omega arrived yesterday, pleased as punch!

Now need to consider where/when to send it off for a service, there seem to be mixed messages in sending your pride and joy to Omega?

Should I or shouldn鈥檛 I that is the question ?

YES - I love mine on my Ti speedy bracelet.

Also, LE #129 and #138 got the LE paper (not warranty card, the paper booklet) switched at the AD, so if anyone has watch #129 but with #138 LE paper, I can arrange the trade so I get the paper (LE cerificate of auth?) for #138 and you get #129.
