Just arrived. I know I'm not very focused about what I buy and I'm probably spending too much on cheap watches when I should be on more expensive pieces, but this...
When researching the back of the drawer Yeoman handwinder that had been my grandfather's I came across this on a buy it now. I have a soft spot for gold watches but only have one capped and one GP so the fact that this was 9ct appealed. I also love the dial and the smooth back, and the serrated edge, and swinging lugs, and the syringe hands, and, well, I kept coming back to it, loving it, and thinking it's probably a bad purchase. In the end I thought I'd make what I consider was a silly offer, a little over half the asking price. I paid £200. Maybe that's still too much for what is a pretty ordinary watch. On the other hand, It's pretty old, it's gold and while it's a tad small for my wrist (maybe I'll give it to Mrs Engee) I think it's gorgeous.
