My son’s first nice purchase: Mondaine stop-2-go!! We can’t stop looking at that seconds hand stopping g at 12 before releasing the minute hand... very cool indeed!!
Picked up this charming 1950's 14kt Seamaster 2757 ( sans bracelet ) yesterday at a watch fair and I'm pretty pleased with it
Both just back from a mechanical service, I need to do something with them strap-wise and just give the crystals a polish. The Rolex was black when we found it. The tank wasn't much better. The tank has a Tavannes movement in it and a strange double hinged back which contains the movement. I have reason to believe that it is a Gruen ... does anyone know if Gruen and Tavannes had a connection in the 20's? Both are running perfectly now and the dials have come up pretty well ... I just need to decide on straps ...
Project Seiko H558-5009 missing shroud Later today I'll hunt around for a battery and see if it works
Latest addition is a Chopard Grand Prix Monaco Historique chronograph 2016 limited edition . This is 311 of 500. With a nearly 45mm case it’s certainly bigger than I would normally buy but fits well on my small wrist . It has a titanium and swell case and great pushers . It’s my first and probably only Chopard but I’m already in love with it even though I’m not a Nato strap fan . But as it comes with a sporty leather replacement I'm a happy bunny.
I’ve been on a bit of a buying spree lately. Since April I have acquired 5 watches. First, a Panerai 1351, then I bought a Panerai 662. Let a month go by then pulled the trigger on an Omega PO LM, then I bought a cheaper watch. A Louis Erard GMT tank used. Finally I bought an Oris Divers65 in green dial with a 42mm case. I should probably stop for a bit now.
