This arrived a couple of days ago. Dated by the hall mark to 1885 in London, sold by watchmaker and jeweller J M Wendt who had shops in Adelaide and Mt Gambier South Australia. It has a fusee movement. The case was made by a guy called Percy Horace Arthur Whitehouse.
The chain is later from Chester UK dated 1915

You're an... damn that was tempting! 馃榿
For that one you should definitly ask on a dedicated thread, because way more info and pics will be needed for proper help. As you said, could be a $60 fix if it is just that the crystal and crown were not properly attached during last service (in that case I will also question the quality of the service TBH), or a $400 one.
Anyway, if you just received the watch you could contact the vendor about that. If he is honest and it happened because of transportation (of a badly packaged watch), he could partially reimburse you for your trouble.

Now my turn, it arrived yesterday:

My new Nivada CASD, Valjoux 92!
Don't mind the paint brushes in the background, I'm building a drawer to put all my watch related stuff 馃槈 (and I do not wear a watch when doing so)

There is some slight scratch on the glass, nothing major, and some spots on the dial. They really seem to be "on" the dial and not discoloration. So maybe most of them can carefully be removed.. The seller had the same understanding about them, she decided to left them and let the buyer decide what to do - and also let him, well me, decide to take that risk or not 馃榿

- The case has light scratches but overall it is in an amazing shape
- The strap is so ugly, I wore it for the picture but that is it. I need to replace it asap and have already a few brands in mind. My Hamilton Khaki has the same 20mm lug width, maybe I'll steal its MN strap and try it on the CASD. (the original Hamilton stap on the CASD... that did not go well either - I fear CASD definitly requires a tapered strap)
- The second hand is off by 0.2s and - I think - slightly bent :/ Given the slight bent, I think the offset is closer to 0.5s. As pictures were taken with the chronograph running, it was not visible when I decided to bid on it
- The movement is perfectly clean, I fully wind it to check accuracy and PR: +10s the first 24 hours, laying flat. PR check: 30h and running, I can still hope to have it close to 39h 馃榾.
- From what is written on the caseback, it was serviced in 66 - so less than 2 years after it was sold - and... 80. So, I'll definitly have it serviced. I just have to find a good watchmaker close to where I live (I found one that had good feedback on some french forums, but when I saw him for my 2 Omega, the customer relation was way below what I - or anyone - is entitled to. As skilled as he could be, he will never see me again)

In general, very happy with it! But I must admit the second hand worries me a bit because I am not sure that I can find another one.

Also, I was surprized that the bezel has no click at all, I always associated bezels with "clicks"... But as I never found how much click a CASD was supposed to have, and after having seen some CASD case without their bezel, I guess it is normal. Can someone confirm it?
Do u know where a stupid noob could find a more specific thread

Already a classic!

Nice pick up. I miss my Rose Dial Tudor BBR sometimes. But I used it as partial trade last year, along with my Planet Ocean 2201.51, to get a 3 month old Rolex SubC No Date. It was running like +0.3 sec/day.

Thanks! that is reassuring 馃榾

PR: 38h 40min. It stopped this morning before going to work, when I manipulated it to try the MN strap. Surprisingly, it does not look that bad

It has a fusee movement
I had to check what it was... Very nice pocket watch, and very ingenious movement

You made yourself an easy target, I meant no offense... You can create your own and request for help 馃槈
Given it is an Omega, I guess the best place would be to create it on that subforum: https://omegaforums.net/forums/vintage-omega-watches-help-discussion-and-advice.23/

Q Timex ... very very pleased. Now to keep it a surprise till the kids August birthday. Both his and mine need to go into hiding.

Just in Wakmann TDRP. Bought without seeing the movement and as not running with horrible photos, so I took a little chance, and it worked out well. After freeing the stem, it wound and took right off. Still needs a proper service.

My dad wore a Timex all his life, passed in 2001, never owned anything more expensive. I have a couple of his, and they are still running. One is an electric, the other an auto winder. The balance staffs on them must be indestructible. Just add a little oil now and then, and they chug right along, keeping mediocre time. It's good to see someone here who appreciates them.

One can enjoy a Yamazaki 18 and still appreciate a good lager. There is room in collecting for both

I totally agree. I used to have a Yamazaki 700. I think the transmission let go, and I gave it to a friend.馃榿

Not a watch...but watch related...

I ordered/purchased an Omega black Velcro strap [first pic below] from a local Omega AD here in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. My original Omega replica NASA strap [my favorite strap of ALL straps] that came with my modern Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch presentation box set has achieved a patina that, in my humble opinion, is near perfect [second pic below]...so I鈥檇 like to semi-retire it and utilize it for more special occasions in the future. Meanwhile, the new Omega black Velcro strap will hopefully satisfy my ridiculous requirement for Velcro. 馃憤

Is this good enough?
