Bulova espresso machine.
Nothing wrong with that at all
Bought my third Speedmaster. Arrived yesterday. 25th Anniversary Apollo XI in white gold. More modern than my usual taste but fell in love at first sight. After missing out on Scott's, had to have one
It's been a busy first few weeks of 2019 for me. I've been moving a few pieces in and out recently, here are the my recent acquisitions...
Let's start with three cal. 1040s. First is a gold-plated 176.007 that world-renowned enabler @ConElPueblo tipped me off to. It is the THIRD 😲 1040 he's helped me acquire! Next up was a full set Speedmaster 125 that @michael e had posted recently on the forum. I sent him a friendly "hey if you ever decide to sell..." message and a few days later it was on my wrist. Yes I already have a 125 but this one is numbered. And did I mention full set? Last is a Mark III professional in great condition, albeit on a weird bracelet (links are solid oyster-style aftermarket, clasp is from a Mexican Holzer Omega bracelet). I have another Mark III as well but it is pretty different (silver dial, non pro, telemetre bezel).
I had been wearing a Tudor BBGMT daily for months, but it came down with the dreaded "date issue". It is away for service and due to a backlog at the RSC it might be gone over 10 weeks. So in the meantime I needed something modern and waterproof with the same GMT functions. So here's my Explorer II:
It is about the most legible watch I've owned night or day, and I've owned many. I also appreciate its lack of shiny surfaces compared to most modern Rolexes.
And finally, I live in a household of animal lovers. Swatch released a watch recently that was designed by an actual pig named Pigcasso and the proceeds go to a good animal-related cause. How could I say no? This is the first and only watch purchase my wife and daughter have ever been excited about. It will be several years before my daughter's wrist is large enough for this watch, but she's already called dibs:
I can’t tell from pics of Mark II & Speedy 125 if finishnis correction the case. I too own these (Mk II III 125 IV 4.5) and have learned from an Omega Certified Service Center - that the correct finish of top flat surface radiates our from dial. Looks very nice when done correctly.
Just FYI.

The Mark III like the 145.036 flightmaster came in either radial/sunburst or circular/horizontal finish. There are even period Mark III ads showing the horizontal finish.

I too own a whites gold 25th Anniv Speedy. Mine is on a white gold bracelet.
Q. I need a WG LINK for this watch. Short of going to Omega Boutique paying $975 USD & waiting a month to receive it; DOES ANYONE KNOW A COLLECTIR WHO MIGHT HAVE ONE (or two links)?
Or has anyone worked with a JEWELRY FABTICATOR GOLDSMITH that could make a link our of WG? With today’s printers I’m sure it’s doable.
I’d appreciate your comments & direction.
Kindly,
Tom
