This one came yesterday Cal.562 dated 1963. The dial is a little different to my other De ville but i kinda like it
Great case, great movement, great price! Not sure about the dial. Will you wear it as is or refurb the dial?
I posted this Zodiac on the Zenith thread this morning by mistake....they both start with “Z” and I hadn’t finished my first cup of coffee. I pulled this “non-working” Zodiac out of a box of junk watches at a flea market yesterday. Turns out the watch actually works and keeps time rather well....to the minute, so far, after thirty hours. The watch appeared wound tight because someone along the way put the wrong crown on it....a crown having a long threaded tube. The threaded tube has more threads than the stem, so when you screw the crown down the bottom of the tube eventually makes contact with the movement but continues to turn threading the stem up into the tube pulling the it outward into the “set” position and stopping the movement. In short, once the crown is screwed all the way down, the movement is stopped, the watch appears to be wound tight, and you cannot set the watch. Took it to my watchmaker this morning. He assures me he has a proper Zodiac crown “somewhere”. It’s not the prettiest or most pristine Zodiac, but it’s alive!
From a seller in Singapore, this Trematic with Bidynator movement inside. Should go well with my Trematic TDMP I found last year.
Really? Send me a pic.. I believe that one (the 56) has a Moonphase, and it’s a re-issue of their ref. 6073 from 1956... about when this one was produced ..
1979 Rolex Air King 5500 from the private sales forum. Arrived yesterday in time for our local RedBar meetup.
Cool! Same movement as my Paul Peugeot. Licensed if that is the proper term. The backwards regulator can take some getting used to. Previous owner must have gotten mixed up and had it running way too fast, adjusted more towards the center and its keeping good time now. Got about the same amount invested in this one, runs great.
I will it wear Totally as is for now maybe a movement service in time I’ve had it on since it arrived and it’s kept near perfect time which is incredible these entry level vintage watches are a absolute blast.....
I have a terrible penchant for Seiko 6138’s and this one just arrived. Apparently it’s been sitting in a drawer for the better part of the 30 some odd years
Technically not a new purchase but it went straight to my watchmaker for a long vacation before arriving this week.
New arrival, Omega Constellation ref. 168.017, cal. 564 from 1969 with texture dial Had a NOS 1040 I have put on it.
