I believe all were issued from the beginning of manufacture in early/mid 1945, though they continued to be used in service till the 60s/70s. Ordering an extract from Jaeger will be the next step after service :>
Got an icon from my young age in NOS quality - and scratched my itch for a true GMT: So let's get this serviced and put it into use
Ordered tonight, awaiting arrival.... 1928 Illinois Bunn Special Gold train, lever set, 60 hour motor barrel, adjusted to 6 positions, micrometric regulator... all the good stuff
That's such a great watch You should be aware though that the watch has seen some polishing, so it's pretty far from NOS. It is especially evident on the bezel, which is always the easiest place to see this.
Thanks again @Archer for the tip. Makes winding a lot easier. Just have to be sensitive to not over-winding.
Back from Mr. Freese this Tuesday and given a couple of period correct straps while I wait for paint to dry (well, shellac): a really good Seamaster 600 from 1964 (if my memory serves); and, a Jean Richard Aquastar aka the "Don Walsh" . The Aquastar still has a scar on the bezel but the scratch is starting to grow on me.
Recently purchased this guy. I know next to nothing about these watches but was interested in it for the Valjoux 72 movement and thought it looked cool.
