Very nice fat font black bezel for your 16750. Looks like it's faded to mostly matte now right?
We will see...should pair well with the 16750.

Now we have His & Hers watches 馃榾.
Omega Seamaster Ref. # 565.008 with a Cal. 671 inside. Serial # 26 79y yyy places it into 1968 and the design looks like Gerald Genta gold & Onyx markers as in my Seamaster... It is difficult to see from the pictures, but hers is Pink Gold filled against my Gold filled. That makes her watch a little more feminine ? They are both quite nice sizes as dress watches, 36 & 25 mm.
Why do I keep buying these sixties Gold filled Seamasters ?

This Dynamic arrived today, including original bracelet. Really happy with it.

One of the models that is much nicer in the flesh, than on pictures, IMO.

Bought last week but just landed today. It's scratching an itch until I can find a big case Fifty Fathoms on the cheap !

Well not quite today, it was on Monday, I'm very excited about it.

Speedmaster 145.022 68 Transitional with a faded grey bezel. Difficult to see here but it has a beautiful dial, in my opinion and a nice sharp case and back. My wife thinks it looks like all my others...she's just extracting the micturate though!

Manual wind Timex from '77. Certainly not fancy, but I liked the hexagonal case. And the price.

Buying a property keeps me from buying watches for myself at the minute, but since I can't help my urge to keep scanning the market, I offer the bargains I come across to friends.
I bought this one on my best mate's behalf: a stunning Breitling Chronomat Regatta with orig papers

For the second time around now I have had to buy similar boxes... A bittersweet experience, as while it is nice to make sure the watches you send abroad will arrive safely, it also means that something in the collection has to go 馃檨

Today, this is the lot I'll send off:

One will be going to a new member here and will be his first vintage watch - a pretty good start, if I may say so - and the other will be joining the collection of an established member. Both are watches I have been very happy to own and I'll have to get them out of the door now, before seller's remorse kicks in bad 馃槣

Oh, and a third watch will be going soon, too. For some reason interest in the Helvetia I've had for sale for some time suddenly spiked after a mid-week bump, forcing me to turn down two offers after having accepted one from a member earlier that day. Like buses...

I could also post the, ahem, replacement for the sold watches here, seeing that I bought it (somewhat unplanned and rashly!) last evening, but I'll save that for the arrival of it. Suffice to say that it is quite different from the two above lovelies and far, far away from my regular field of vintage watch collecting, even though I am very familiar with the brand in question 馃槈

Also - I still need to make "room" for the new arrival, so if you remember me posting something nice lately (possibly on my Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/troelsoelholm/ I could well be open for offers!

Truth told, I picked up this spiffy King Seiko 4402-8000 from 1966 a few weeks ago. It's just back from the spa where it received a full takedown service, and had a NOS crystal (I sourced) installed. No polishing - ever. The lugs are razor edged and the hands and markers really pop with the 'Zaratsu' polishing technique. Dial is pretty great too.

Crown and caseback are correct, with the 1966 having the (rarer) King Seiko shield design. Currently running at +3 seconds / day with a strong amplitude, also I am extremely pleased with the work of a new (to me) watchmaker. PM me if anyone is looking to have work done on a vintage Seiko (King, Grand, etc.) he shows the proper care =).

Icing on the cake: its new Crown & Buckle (Black Label) navy strap arrived 35 minutes after pick-up! Just really (really) pleased with how awesome this 51-year-old watch is...

Really, really fantastic watch, but it does need a more refined strap than the one on it now. The level of workmanship on the case and hands mix oddly with a basic strap with rough stitching like that 馃榾

How difficult was it to source a NOS crystal?

I definitely see your point about the strap. Oh well, back on the hunt for the perfect fit...it's a good thing I have another watch in the rotation with 18mm lugs - and a little less refinement 馃槈 - the strap is well made and very comfortable.

Sourcing the crystal itself wasn't too difficult. What was tricky was scouring the forums to come up with the correct part number to begin the search. I will readily admit, if my Japanese was functional, it would have been easier, there are still a lot of parts out there for these watches. For reference, the KS 4402-8000's crystal is part number: 320W01AN00. I found an old thread on the Seiko & Citizen forum, then went link hopping until someone suggested the above part number. After that it was all Google. I also think that these crystals might still be in production, haven't confirmed yet, but will update if that's the case.

I bought a beater - 拢50 on clearance from a low end high street jeweller.

Quite excited to have a watch I can genuinely abuse and not worry about.
