The thrill of it all. I'm not that fussed with boxes & paperwork, but it was a thrill to open the shipping box & see a watch box to open. The band is an ugly hair puller, but the rest seems original. Haven't opened the case yet.
A present for my good lady, she loves to wear some of my watches so perhaps i'll be allowed the occasional shot at this one
Just got this, fresh from auction. It's in amazing condition, with box & papers, including the original till receipt from 1975! There are a few light scratches on the crystal and case/bracelet, but only really visible under magnification. Original cost price in April 1975 was £46.80, or equivalent to about £450 today...
Aaaawwwww...that box got me a bit homesick now (I'm originally from Hungary, been living in the UK for 10 years). Great looking piece. Reminds me of my Vostok Europe, the only Russian watch in my 50+ collection, and definitely the one that spends the most time on my watchmaker's bench for a repair. Hope you have better luck with this
I have been wondering why nobody looks at my last buys, I just realised I posted them in the wrong thread called "What did you buy (not wtaches)", haste makes waste. So to make it short I bought a 2937 last week and a 2938 yesterday. Both 36 mm.
Gosh . That's one of the most horrible movements I've seen, not just for finish (one jewel Baumgartners were prettier) but the actual layout looks as if it was designed by somebody on LSD in 1982................Oh, hang on....................Yeah.
