This is my earliest Rolex. It's a 32 mm silver cushion-shaped Oyster with enamel dial, ref. 4913 (present on outer and inner case back). The SN is not present -- not sure if it was worn or polished off or, being so early, simply didn't have one. I would place this as late '20s, but not entirely sure. The crown is probably a slightly later replacement; I think it would have had an onion shaped crown originally.

I count at least 8 service marks on the inner case back!

This arrived in the mail today!

Speedmaster 145.022 from 1980. I've been looking for this for a while and I'm super happy. Great condition and feels great on my wrist!

What 😲, You bought a watch !

Yes, a watch that I would never have even known about if it weren't for an enabler 1200 miles south of me. And what's really strange is I bought it because of that bracelet.

What's next? An Accutron?

I thought you were a watch band kind of guy...

I already owned an Accutron - a fairly uncommon one at that. (1963 Yellow Dot B Spaceview with the box and manual) I even owned one of those hypermegasuperduper quartz Constellations with the box & papers too.

I most certainly am. However, any time you see a vintage IWC with the period correct (and hopefully original) logo bracelet, you gotta take a look. In this instance, the bracelet is worth between 1/3 and 1/2 of what I paid for the entire watch. IWC bracelets are some of the best in the industry.

Dig the Ref. 10, upper left corner. I believe you've got the Coca-Cola version. The Real Thing.

Well, I seem to have shaken off my habit of only finding gold capped watches with this lovely patinated Seamaster:

The amount of human residue I had to clean off it before it was presentable once again was staggering 🤮

Naturally, however, the cosmic balance had to be maintained, so today I've bought no less than two jumbo bumper Seamasters - both in gold cap 😁 😁

The first one was with an online auction I've been looking at for some time, while the second was an attack of opportunity with a price too good to be true - I simply had to strike!!

I guess I ought to unload one or two of these, as they are really filling a niche in my collection that's more than adequately filled in the first place 🤦
