I didn't technically purchase this. Rather, I received it as a gift for a deal i had been outright begging for, for almost 6 months. The seller felt sorry for me!

It's a very cool winder from the 1930's - it's a rather large case @ almost 38mm and 18mm fixed lugs.

Very nice Helvetia! The 82A same movement used in the German army issued (DH) Helvetia watches.

Here's the tale of two Connies...

A few weeks ago I bought this:

and the brown strap had a gold colored buckle. Both the strap, which appears to be unworn, and the buckle are Omega branded. Too bad they don't belong with this watch.

They belong with this watch:

Reference 2852 - 1C gold on steel cal. 505

I knew I would find a home for that strap...

And simultaneously member @watchthirst found himself in possession of a bracelet for the 14393 that he was persuaded to sell.

Here's it's new home:

Well, I seem to have shaken off my habit of only finding gold capped watches with this lovely patinated Seamaster:

The amount of human residue I had to clean off it before it was presentable once again was staggering 🤮

Naturally, however, the cosmic balance had to be maintained, so today I've bought no less than two jumbo bumper Seamasters - both in gold cap 😁 😁

The first one was with an online auction I've been looking at for some time, while the second was an attack of opportunity with a price too good to be true - I simply had to strike!!

I guess I ought to unload one or two of these, as they are really filling a niche in my collection that's more than adequately filled in the first place 🤦
So which one you're keeping and which one you are putting on sale?

No idea yet! Have only had the solid gold one for a few days and am yet to receive any of the other two, so very undecided.

Well, this Zodiac arrived from Switzerland this week and the strap was purchased in Boston today.

And then this arrived from Texas.
And a new strap just "because".

Now I have to learn to properly set it so it doesn't trigger unexpectedly because it's "wicked LOUD"!

These could be brothers.... sisters? ... not gold but very similar dials.
not bought today but recent and just back from some natural healing.

The small button all the way in for sure shuts it off and allows setting. Then pushing the crown in one click shuts it off and locks all the hand adjustment. Pulling the crown out allows regular time setting.

Bronze

It is only bronze

Loved that watch right up 'til the Google told me it was 43 mm. Oh, and the SWISS MADE above the minute / second track would drive me bananas.

Thanks, @ahsposo !
I also found this link to Dr Ranfft's site, which includes instructions:
http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Vulcain_120

Remarks
1947-1963 (Vulcain 120), 1963-1973 (MSR S2), 1973-2001 (Revue RT80)

Operating Instruction

Wind watch and alarm: the cricket has two independent barrels for watch and alarm. It is recommended to wind both completely each morning as follows:
Make sure that the crown at 3h is completely pushed in.

Watch: turn crown towards 6h.

Alarm: turn cown towards 12h.

Attention: if a resistance appears in one or the other direction, the according barrel is completely wound up. Do not force further. Continue to wind in the other direction.

Set time: pull the crown at 3h completely and turn it towards 6h. Push the crown completely after setting.

Set and enable alarm: press down the pusher at 2h completely. The crown at 3h pops up. Turn the crown towards 12h to set the the alarm hand to the desired time. Push completely down the crown again.

The size is fine with me, and I do like bananas very much.[emoji12]
