Forgive my ignorance, but is that an orange boy? I'm not extremely familiar with vintage Heuer. It's a good looking piece.

Just pulled the trigger on a basically NOS Doxa 300T Sharkhunter with a Synchron case and US Divers Co marked dial. Ships over to me tomorrow. Super pumped to see it in the metal. Will post pics when it gets here.

Threw a low-ball offer on a smaller Tissot on the 'Bay. Seller accidentally hit accept but said he will honor it because it was his mistake. Not sure if he is BSing me but I'm happy with it... Now the wait. If my research is correct it dates to 1944

I am by no means very knowledgeable in Heuer, but I do know that the 'Orange Boy' is in reference to an Autavia model with orange highlights, so not this one... this is a Carrera, ref. 110.573B. It has a 39mm (a bit smaller) case (barrel-style).

It´s been a bit of a dry spell just lately so I´m very happy to report the arrival of this one which came in just a couple of days ago.

A cal 381 ref 2471 in steel, with an 11.2 million serial number dating it to around 1947. I love these Cosmic´s but finding a nice one can be quite tricky with so many of them being over polished, water damaged and/or re-dialed, this one however has a lovely patina and a nice crisp case :)

That is gorgeous @cristos71. I love the balanced look it has even with the amount of info provided. I hope it's not to early into your ownership to be calling dibs. :D

This one ticked off too many boxes to resist: something from the Navitimer family so that I get the ultra-geeky circular slide rule, a white(-ish) dial chronograph, and a Moon Phase complication. It was acquired during our recent Middle East vacation.

a shipping container for a watch......

back in the day of the great American pocket watch, you could go to the jeweler, choose a movement and a case and he would put it together for you and you had a watch. Most watches left the factory uncased, which sort of rules out the originality of the case issue with a lot of this stuff.

Anyway, long ago an Illinois movement left the works in this packaging: a glass ended steel case in a steel case! Omega's box in a box has nothing on this! (the movement in the picture is an old Waltham that's wishing it was an Illinois tonight..... just for the pictures......

Seems to me you asked a question about whether it was to early to call dibs. Don't see you actually calling it :D:D:D

Oy vey. I see how it could be read that way. You win this one, I'll be certain to call it correctly the next time... perhaps using bolded and italicized font to be sure.

I want to thank my parents for teaching me not to hesitate, Jwit for his charming naiveté, Cicindela for his graphics skills, and most of all Cristos for his impeccable taste and honoring of the DIBS code.:p

Mmm, seems like you too were asking a question that I don't see a reply to. :cautious:
Have to check with our legal department, the honorable Dewey, Cheatum and Howe LLP.
