The early Lemania HS9s were issued in the late 1940s. Yours is most likely from that period.
The re-numbering, and dial replacement, have been done in the early 1960s.
Those fantastic old warriors did service for a very long time!

Walking down a street in a town in northern Italy and spy this: a 40mm Eberhard pre-extra fort.

Walk inside and ask in my execrable Italian if I can have a look and it turns out that it is a bad redial.

As I hand it back with apologies, he says he put the new dial on and he still has the original.

Breguet numerals to match the Breguet hands, and an original buckle as well. She'll be off to the watchmaker for a service and to be returned to her original self as soon as I get back to Aus.
