The early Lemania HS9s were issued in the late 1940s. Yours is most likely from that period. The re-numbering, and dial replacement, have been done in the early 1960s. Those fantastic old warriors did service for a very long time!

Walking down a street in a town in northern Italy and spy this: a 40mm Eberhard pre-extra fort.
