I didn't buy it today, but it just arrived. I threw it on the first 16 mm strap I could find:

I am blown away by the beauty of this dial! Bumper movement inside.

A nice cheap-ish JLC from their grey period...
Jaeger LeCoultre Club Automatic with the AS1906 caliber, 17 jewels unadjusted (signed LeCoultre on the rotor).

Keeping decent time, gold plating is a bit worn off on the side of the lugs and the "T Swiss T" marking is rubbed off, though. Love the panda day-date.

Don't really know anything about it, but it was inexpensive so I said why not.

a few days ago I received two nice watch boxes . Each of them can protect 6 and 8 even larger watches. The 6-watch-version is for my wife's three valuable wrist watches and the other one will contain my future watches. [emoji16] 169774aed00ab7593f842bdb2ce64d4b.jpg

Here's a watch I actually bought a couple of months or so ago for about $35. I managed to raise it's value to about $40 by getting a $235 service done to it. And I paid for that today and brought it home so I thought I'd show it here.

I can't find much out about the Benrus watch catalog history. I've found all the easy stuff but getting info on years and models is pretty much an open mystery so far. I've bought a couple because A) they were in great condition for their apparent age, B) I really like the styling and C) they are cheap thrills. You sure don't have to worry about fakes or redials...

This watch is 33mm, stainless, serviced through the top, light patina - kind of a dusty speckle. What sold me was the up and down inside numerals. I found that very unusual. Often the 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 are absent and if I've seen them up and down like this it didn't register in my mind.

I'm guessing it's an early 1960's watch.

Two week end purchases from Sicily:

A vintage pilot watch strap or military style strap, found at the Palermo flea market:

A triple wrap neon leather bangle (already posted in the WRUW thread)(in Rome, do as the romans....):

Bought this one ...
Not quite sure if I'll take it home though...

Don't worry... If I decide to pass, I'll leave it for the next in line..won't try to sell it.

(Although I don't see this being another Snoopy )

A little light reading material?

Nope, but certainly a good warehousing solution for a few of my straps 😗

Since this photo I have actually filled it and am currently searching for another one.....and yes, I do now realise that I have a serious problem...😁

I saw yours and thought it was pretty cool...ended up clicking buy-it-now for this one! 😀

Almost bought this watch my senior year of high school, but didn't. Always liked it, but never pulled the trigger.

One popped up with tin and papers from 1997, and I just had to buy as it was the same year I graduated.

At 40mm and a ton of tritium to patina in the future, it will make a great beater.

Score!

Very nice and would make a terrific daily driver.

I can't tell from the photo's - is the lume still in place in the hands? If not, I've seen the before and afters from the "UK watch guy" and he's like the Michaelangelo of re/lume. He does perfect textures and color matching.

Defo worth doing for a watch like this...

A real JLC and a real beauty!

Have you considered a German style "Bund" strap? I'm a big fan of these.
