You got what I consider a great dress watch for a very good price. I was dead serious when I said I would have jumped on it (and I did see it within 2 minutes of it being posted) if I didn't have the AP filling the same niche.

路Alpha, hear hear. I bought something I shouldn't have also, will post some pics when I receive it later this week. In the meantime, we can exchange stories on how the watch fall onto our laps (if you think that would work on the Mrs. you are welcome to use this one) All the subsequent posts (esp those waffles) are not helping with the wants! Not at all!!

路It occurs to me that there are a few novices here when it comes to getting a recent arrival past the inspector (aka: the wife). Let me give you a few advanced tips - no jokes this time. Or as MC Hammer said "Yo! Sound the bell, school's in sucka."
1) Buy several of the same strap. Seriously! I have 3 Kelaran matt black gator with small scales, 2 Hadley-Roma brown gator with white stitching, multiple Hirsh lizard colors of the same style, etc. Think about it - how will your wife know the difference between two round 35-ish mm watches made of a similar color metal that have similar dials? To her, they'll look the same, just like you think about the 12 different pairs of black pumps in her closet.
2) Buy and sell more, but make a bigger deal about outgoing watches than incoming ones. "Hey hon, I'm off to the Post Office to ship out a watch I just sold - need any stamps while I'm there? How about anything from the grocery store since it's around the corner?" Yep, you seem like you're offering to be the nice guy AND casually noting that you're getting rid of a watch.
3) When you sell off 3 or 4 cheap watches to fund one expensive watch all she has to know is quantity out > quantity in.
4) DO NOT LET HER KNOW WHAT YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT PASSWORD IS. Set up a separate one for watches / hobbies if necessary.
Okay, class dismissed. Go forth and watchiply.

Thanks for the tip. 馃憤 I've just bought two watches a few days apart and I was really thinking about the inspector thing. Since I'm also doing some renovation work I'd definitely hear "you know this little new hobby of yours is getting really expensive and you've just spent half a dishwasher blablablablablabla". Just ordered the same Hardly-Roma I bought last week for a gold-capped Seamaster. 馃槑
