Ah, another of my future watches. Actually, I think you have 2 future watches destined to be in my collection - the other being your 2499. I'm gonna have to start a secondary fund for watches I'm gonna pester members out of. And LouS, just because I've given you a few months off doesn't mean I won't get back to you after the holidays about your 22L.
I don't get how that applies to vintage watches, unless you're threatening us to give you our watches or you'll make garters out of our guts. Kinda icky if you think about it, and you'll find you do better if you make the owner an offer they can't refuse in private.
Here if you misbehave and your wife finds out we will often say " she'll have my guts for garters " luckily I got away with a wee common Seamaster, no chance with that beauty.
Sweet...reminds me of the 30T2RGs. Another black dial came in today, needs some work but a really nice dial!
Got this today, couldn't get these lugs out of my mind, this baby is going to be a lot of work. My main objective was to save the case, I'm not sure it has ever been polished, might just be 70 years of wear. U.S. Norman Morris, 14k creation (see page 145 AJTT attached) Old redial but I have hopes to come up with an original dial since these get melted down like crazy. Everybody please check your parts drawer for dial/crystal !! Sincere thanks to Yann (Tire_Comedon) and others for their help. Ooops, add movement shot.
Nice one! You gotta let me know when you're getting rid of one of your black waffle bumpers. I miss having one around.
Bought this last Thursday at Swatch Group's annual F&F sale. I already have a 2201.50 PO but couldn't pass up on this one with a price tag that you never see on a brand new Omega. Then the week before, I got a TinTin
Had to ask someone that goes to the Emerald Isle often what this meant. Ha. I'm Scots-Irish. I say this on the expressway many times daily. Now I know I came by this bad habit honestly at least, and can now say it proper.
Not vintage at all. I bought this for my seventeen year old son. He is really enjoying looking at old watches with the old man. He certainly knows what he likes. Fifties and sixties Seamasters and of course loves Connie pie pans. I'm certainly not going to let him knock around in a valuable oldie. He likes round, thin, 35ish mm watches. I gave him an old Skagen I bought years ago and He wears it constantly. For some reason his buddies think it's really cool. Go figure. I was also amazed to hear him say that some of the kids his age can't read time on an analog watch very well. Amazing. This ticks his boxes and will give him another watch to wear. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291036354475?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
More sad than anything else, but times change. Mondaine makes a good looking watch. I reviewed one of their watches a while back that was very similar. Liked it a lot.
A rotary phone stopped my little nephew cold - he got a big kick out of it when I showed him how to use it.
My son-in-law is from Belfast and was a bartender on Time's Square for several years. I'm picking up on the brougue but there are times when it takes a minute.
