...I ended up returning it all. It was a great collection of really cheap straps, a huge amount of unbranded acrylic crystals and watch parts as well as a few odd bits and bobs.
This beautiful Jaeger LeCoultre. I don't know the reference since it hasn't any number in the caseback:
Well this arrived smoothly from AUS, but it's actually a present so will enjoy it until tomorrow's party!
A nice honest 145.012, actually my first "normal" / vintage Speedy Pro. It joins a family of a 105.003 and a few modern Apollo XI limiteds. 26mil serial, warranty papers dated 8/68, and a nice full 1039 /516 bracelet- my favorite!
Bought this cheap pilots watch today:- And spent the rest of my day doing it up. Replaced glass. Repainted hands, as someone used some white paint to fill them in, while I was doing that, I decided to relume the numbers as they were kinda bleh. Painted small second white as it was copper colour and didn't match steel colour hour and minute hand. Made little minute marker as it was missing, painted it a darkened red. Put on suitable crown. Added watch strap. Was a bit bored today.
I had been deciding for most of Saturday between 2 Longines UltraChron's (one 18K, another 14K) and instead I have my first Speedmaster... A 176.016 cal 1045 with blue dial, Seamaster caseback, Spanish calendar and original Mexican made bracelet. So here are seller's pics. Chrono functions don't look like they're resetting to 0s, which I'll ask about, and I did notice the inside of the caseback reads 176.0016. Is this a replacement? I generally thought xxx.00xx was a replacement, but a lot of the pix I've seen of the 176.xxx casebacks all seem to have a 176.00xx. I have a 14 day return window, so bring the critiques and issues please!
I got the grey dial defy. The only bad thing is now I need two lobster bracelets and the red version!
Technically, I picked this up last night. This is the sellers photo but mine probably won't be much better.
Well that Speedmaster put me over 1,000 likes! Thanks for the response I've been wearing it all weekend but happened to take this quick photo the other night, and found that I quite like it.... And getting a little artsy with the filter
Pawn shop find back from service. Left unmolested except for a full service and new HEC. I love the funky character and makes we wonder what this watch went through...A little hell I suppose as what remains of the UV coating attests to!
This arrived with yesterday's mail. Love it! It'll stay on the Nato until I can get the bracelet sized by my jeweler.
