Today was my "Christmas" a few days earlier A Favre Leuba Bathy 160 from 1968 The first dive watch with depth indicator Extremly rare and practical impossible to find in this condition. The function: The water enters in a chamber between the movement and the caseback. If you go down the pressure of the water rise and move the fork at the back of the movement. This fork move the hand of the depth indicator (I hope my description is understandable) Now to the pictures (last Picture is stolen from the net) I hope you like it Adri
Dive watches from this golden era were spectacularly ingenious in form and function, and you've bagged one such fine example. BIG congrats on your new acquisition. Get it tested/pressurized and take it for a test drive asap.
Very nice! I recently stumbled across and purchased a rare, first generation Bivouac. Favre Leuba made some terrific technical watches during the '60s.
Simply awesome! I've been looking for one of these myself for a long time. They are very difficult to find especially in this condition. Congrats! P.S. Let me know when / if you want to sell it
A few more with the unequal brothers And if a watchmaker is intrested. The original Favre Leuba description how you separate and put the function back together (in French)
Can the mods please delete this thread. I try to stay away, but keep coming back. It's ruining my life, I know I should be able to ignore it but the urge gets too much.
congratulations Adri.... could you stop increasing the number of watches I need to buy on my bucket list.... its getting way too long now =P
