Lovely poor sellers pics😁!
My first Longines caliber 30L.
18k case. I have a feeling it should clean up rather nicely.
😉

Good thing you did not push it further up. I was not prepared to go much higher😀

Never made any bid gut stuck in the Speedmaster 105012 66 on another site. Congratulations to a nice watch

these are great watches and it looks like you found a top notch example. nice heavy case - feels like a thin automatic on the wrist.

it's bizarre someone would walk around with a gorgeous SG watch with a 3 dollar bracelet (it looks like a cheap to my eye). Not inexpensive but cheap. There's a difference.

I hope there no metal on metal crime going on on the inside of the lugs because the case looks otherwise, perfect 😀

Fully agree on the bracelet. I assume it is an old mans thing. Seen loads of watches from estate sales / first hand with those nasty metal things.
I find them a good sign that it has not seen too many dealers or fixers earlier.

[emoji115] This. I totally agree with that statement. It's really shocking to me how many beautiful vintage watches I've bought that were on that same "2 buck chuck" stretchy bracelet. I literally have a Ziploc bag full of them at this point bc for some odd reason I won't throw them out.

Granted, my own inherited from a great uncle 18K Helvetia (1st vintage watch that started the sickness) came on a crap speidel stretchy, so I suppose I was forewarned of what was to come...

those stretchy speidels were crazy popular in the 60s for comfort as it was described to me. I remember all of my grandfathers' and great uncles' watches on one!

You make a great point about being a sign that they haven't seen much dealer/jeweler tinkering. I'd say watches I've bought that had one of those bracelets totally fit that description.

Inherited my late grandfathers Omega ref 166.067 Seamaster. Speidel stretch.
Have a large bag of them myself.
No ideas why.....

My 68 Transitional Speedie came on one of those stretchy Spiedel bracelets. It's part of the reason I took a chance on the watch as a one owner piece. Very popular option back then.

I got a Movado m95 last year that came on a stretchy with a calendar insert that still actually had the calendar in it... From 1969-1970. I don't think the watch had been used since then.

Like your transitional, the stretchy was part of the reason I took a chance bc the seller's listing said the chronograph functions weren't working. Except when I got it, they worked just fine and reset to 0, seller just didn't know they were reversed. That watch is also by far my nicest/most interesting patina dial... It's a very even light purple/iridescent color that didn't show in the listing pix.

The collection is growing slowly...
Don't worry. It will speed up if you hang around here!
