Could you tell a little about the "Practical Watch Repairing" one? I have the same book, but in a print from 1947!
IMHO these bracelets are the same as the ones for the El Primero. Only the end pieces are different. see this fantastic thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/guide-to-zenith-gay-freres-endpieces.2873/
Interesting, thought the bracelets were very similar. I'll wager the end pieces for the A-series are quite hard to find.
A very good choice I am sure! Have been driving most versions of the MX5s in some form since the launch. They all have offered a sense of driving joy which puts a big fat grin on a petrolheads face. On top they are well built and works as everyday transport if u like.
This one ticked loads of my boxes. Crown, trapezoid date window, condition of case, movement and of course brand Could not resist. (Sellers pics)
My first Omega Seamaster Automatic (De Ville). Original and mint condition, 1968, cared for and fully serviced.
Just got back from a weekend away to find this waiting for me. Better pics and a new family shot to come later this week.
This is my 6th Bulova diver since Halloween. I may have a problem. Sorry if I sniped you on this one...
A really rare and beautiful BWC 3147ns with Landeron 189 from around 1967, very similar to the Heuer Carrera 3147 but with reverse Panda dial. Old ad from Baselworld 1967 and smartphone shot.
More pics coming soon... Yep, Matthew Bain. I got this watch as part of a multiple watch trade after a couple of days of negotiating with him directly during his trip to New York. He had cases and cases of nice watches (i.e. mint condition Patek 3448/2526, 13zn, Omega 33.3, etc. - a veritable Toy R Us for us vintage watch lovers) most of which were outside of my budget, but overall he was very easy to work with. If any of you guys wish to purchase from him in the future I recommend that you try to deal with him directly instead of with one of his employees. The prices will still be relatively high, but he is infinitely more flexible - his asking prices were about 20% - 25% less than his employees' prices I got through email. He did try to convince me that the Tri-Compax is untouched/NOS which I disagreed with at the time because of some tool marks on the caseback/crystal tension ring and some of the lugs appeared to have been restored. I may have been a little too bullish on that because after a closer look, I believe this watch has never ever seen a polishing wheel. There is an eccentricity to this particular case that made it appear to have been polished. I will share those details with all of you soon!
Lovely poor sellers pics! My first Longines caliber 30L. 18k case. I have a feeling it should clean up rather nicely.
