Are Omega getting too expensive

Omega is trying to push upmarket. It is a bit crude really, and hence you can see the desperation behind. I get the same feeling about IWC Ingeneur pricing.

The brand is kind of mismanaged along with whole of Swatch Group.

Hi @Tallest, welcome to the forum,
I’m not into modern Omega watches but just curious, are you joining “Omega Forums” in order to disparage the brand and its various affiliates, in an effort to attack Nick Hayek and Swatch group?

This is an independent forum and we are free to criticize if there’s good reason, but Swatch saved the entire watch industry from the quartz crisis, I wish I could be such a pathetic failure in all of my endeavors.

Maybe you’d care to join a serious discussion on the subject below, and elaborate,
Unless of course you’re one of the bravely anonymous authors or sources of the article cited below:

'Tallest' - So they should be pushing 'down-market' instead? Let's make the same watch product, but we'll just start giving them away. Start tanking prices. You know, just like the rest of the manufacturers. Huh???

Any statement, to be valid, requires some basic logic / common sense or factually correct insight. Your statement seems to contain neither.

Modern Omega was never my type of budget (or to be honest my cup of tea), but I recently went to an Omega boutique in Paris seeking info for a forum member, and was stunned at the price increases. It didn’t seem so long ago when in 2015 the Seamaster Spectre edition and other watches were priced at 6500 euros.
Now we’re squarely in Rolex territory with unavailable watches ranging 8900 euros to 18000 euros.

Omega is a luxury product line in a publicly held company and they will continue to raise prices as much as they can to maximize return for their shareholders.

And then there're all the "ambassadors", "influencers" and watch websites that get a free watch for marketing purposes ::stirthepot::
